The Bible speaks about Satan and his demons being able to not only produce miracles, signs and appear as an angel of light, but also that he can cause pain and bring about physical symptoms. Revelation 16:14, “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles…” For we see in Job, that it was Satan that killed Job’s children, caused him great distress and calamity in his life, including giving him painful boils. Job 2:7, “So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils form the sole of his foot unto his crown.” We also see in Exodus that the wise men, magicians, and sorcerers under the power of Satan and his demons were able to replicate many of the plagues with which God plagued Egypt through Moses, but only to a certain point as God allowed and they weren’t able to protect themselves from experiencing the plagues. Exodus 7:10-12, “And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. (11) Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. (12) For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.”
Exodus 8:18 &19, “And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. (19) Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.”
Exodus 9:11, “And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.”
Very soon we will be tested to see if our life is hid in Christ or if it has been lived according to the lusts of the flesh and the pride of life. Many false Christ’s have already appeared, but Satan himself will soon appear on this earth pretending to be Jesus Christ himself (before the real Jesus returns, who never touches the earth) and guess what he will be doing? PERFORMING MIRACLES and doing many wonders. Not only will Satan look like Jesus but these miracles that he will be performing will be no measly miracles, for “…if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Matthew 24: 23-27, “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. (24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (25) Behold, I have told you before. (26) Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. (27) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” But what will Satan be speaking when he appears on earth pretending to be Jesus? What will he be proclaiming to the people? Will it match the Scriptures?
“Fearful sights of a supernatural character will soon be revealed in the heavens, in token of the power of miracle-working demons. The spirits of devils will go forth to the kings of the earth and to the whole world. Rulers and subjects will be alike deceived. Persons will arise pretending to be Christ, and claim- ing the title and the worship which belong to the world’s Redeemer. They will perform wonderful miracles of healing, and will profess to have revelations from Heaven contradicting the testimony of the Scriptures.
In different parts of the earth, Satan will manifest himself among men as a ·majestic being of dazzling brightness, resembling the description of the Son of God given by John in the Revelation. The glory that surrounds him is unsurpassed by anything that mortal eyes have yet beheld. The shout of triumph rings out upon the air, “Christ has come! Christ has come!” The people prostrate themselves in adoration before him, while he lifts up his hands, and pronounces a blessing upon them, as Christ blessed his disciples when he was personally upon the earth. His voice is soft and subdued, yet full of melody. In gentle, compassionate tones he presents some of the same gracious, heavenly truths which the Saviour uttered; he heals the diseases of the people, and then, in his assumed character of Christ, he claims to have changed the Sabbath to Sunday, and commands all to hallow the day which he has blessed. He declares that those who persist in keeping holy the seventh day are blaspheming his name by refusing to listen to his angels sent to them with light and truth. This is the strong, almost overmastering delusion. Like the Samaritans who were deceived by Simon Magus, the multitudes, from the least to the greatest, give heed to these sorceries, saying, This is “the great power of God.”
But the people of God will not be misled. The teachings of this false Christ are not in accordance with the Scriptures. His blessing is pronounced upon the worshipers of the beast and his image, -the very class upon whom the Bible declares that God’s unmingled wrath shall be poured out. And, furthermore, Satan is not permitted to counterfeit the manner of Christ’s advent. Tho Scriptures teach that ” as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be;” that he” cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him;” that he will “descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God;” that he will” come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him,” and will “send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect.” Those who have received the love of the truth will be shielded from the powerful delusion that takes the world captive. By the testimony of the Scriptures they will detect the deceiver in his disguise.”
Before this soon appearance of Satan, we must prepare and apply our faith in every facet of our lives. No matter the amazing miracles performed, or how kind someone is, we must not let our eyes or feelings determine the decisions we make. It must always be determined by the Word of God. “And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” (Luke 4:4) Our faith must be separate from our feelings, for our feelings don’t determine our faith. Just as faithful Abraham chose what land he would settle based on faith and not on sight, unlike Lot who chose the land that would prosper him in a worldly way for the land he chose “was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord,…” (Genesis 13:10). When Satan appears in his most cunning and glorious state, it will be like nothing our human eyes have ever seen and if we don’t trust in the Scriptures, nor do we obey all of the Lord’s blessed commandments but trust in what our eyes see and what our feelings say, we will be sadly deceived by his beauty and many lying wonders. For remember Satan and his demons are angels, they just happen to be fallen. For since he was kicked out of Heaven like lightning and 1/3 of the angels followed after him (Revelation 12:4), Satan and his demons have been lying in wait ready to deceive anyone, in any way that they can. And two of the ways in which he has found “success” has been through many new age practices and spiritualism. Satan will use anything if there is the possibility for it to keep someone or take someone away from true faith in Jesus Christ. I personally have experienced these “false” miracles and have written about a few examples in these posts if you are interested. (1) (2) (3)
“The time is coming when Satan will work miracles right in your sight, claiming that he is Christ; and if your feet are not firmly established upon the truth of God, then you will be led away from your foundation. The only safety for you is to search for the truth as for hid treasures. Dig for the truth as you would for treasures in the earth, and present the word of God, the Bible, before your heavenly Father, and say, Enlighten me; teach me what is truth. And when His Holy Spirit shall come into your hearts, to impress the truth into your souls, you will not let it go easily. You have gained such an experience in searching the Scriptures, that every point is established. And it is important that you continually search the Scriptures. You should store the mind with the word of God; for you may be separated, and placed where you will not have the privilege of meeting with the children of God. Then you will want the treasures of God’s word hidden in your hearts, and when opposition comes around you, you will need to bring everything to the Scriptures.” RH April 3, 1888, par. 9
It is vitally important for every child of God to be watching at all times, that is why Jesus calls us to be watchmen on the wall, for Satan is always looking for any opportunity to even get his fingernail in the door and that isn’t a risk the child of God wants to take. Revelation 16:15, “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”
Praise the Lord, that God will never allow us to be tempted more than we can handle and because He is faithful to keep His promises, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13) but we must not take our eyes off of Jesus, as did Peter. We must continue to, “Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face continually.” (1 Chronicles 16:11) We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling and watch for the signs that Jesus has told were to happen, like Satan appearing to be Christ before He returns.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-10, “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.”
We must continue reading and studying the Bible, praying, and seeking Godly counsel to see if something is Biblical, approved of God and according to His will. God will give us that proper discernment and guidance that we need every step along the way. Praise His Name!
Romans 8:37, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”
I pray this blesses you!
