This is part of a response I shared with someone regarding a question they had about frequencies and vibrations. (I have since edited some of it).
I hope you and your family are doing well. ❤️
I completely understand you feeling like you are walking on a fine line. I have felt that very same way before and in regards to frequencies/vibrations I haven’t gotten to spend as much time looking into or studying this compared to other topics but I can share what I have learned.
What I can say with something like frequencies especially when there are some circumstance that may not at initial glance seem to be as clear of a line drawn between what is right and wrong, what helps me if I am unsure is to pray and go into Gods Word and even if I don’t get an answer right away or I don’t understand what is correct right away, as I continue to do pray, read His Word and get closer to Him, He always helps me to grow in discernment, understanding, wisdom, etc..but until I do know and have the clarity I was praying for, I stay away just to be safe if I am hesitant or unsure.
Take the music example you brought up, there are studies that prove there are positive effects of classical music on plants and negative effects of rock n roll on a plants growth and also there are proven positive effects for someone’s health when listening to gospel music..just the same, think about the effects positive encouraging words vs negative hateful words can have on a person (Proverbs 16:24 KJV, “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”) these could all be considered forms of “frequencies.”
It was God’s intended purpose to use music to bless us and others and to praise God. We even have an example in the Bible of the positive blessing heavenly music can be for someone:
“And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.” (1 Samuel 16:23 KJV)
I can personally attest to how listening and/or singing hymn’s, scripture songs, gospel music has been just the encouragement I have needed time and time again. It has been something God has used and often does use to bring me refreshment, encouragement, etc
Now on the contrary, Satan was made with instruments in him. (Ezekiel 28:13-19) He used to be an heavenly angel named Lucifer that played beautiful music but when he was cast down to earth due to his disobedience and unwillingness to repent, he created demonic forms of music like hard rock, metal, rap, and other intense drum filled music. For Satan knows the power of music and what it can do to people positively(heavenly music) or negatively. Most music today can be the very cause of evil spirits to attach or come into people and most especially cause people to be more upset, agitated, vexed, aggressive, etc.
These could be considered frequencies but we need to be watchful as to where the line gets crossed. What do I mean? God doesn’t give us instruction to sing in psalms and praise God because they carry or have good frequencies, we miss the point if we are simply wanting to do those things because they have good frequencies. The same people that would want to listen to gospel music because of the good frequencies, also will want to do eastern meditation because that too is said to be a way of reaching certain “healing” frequencies, when eastern mediation is unbiblical, demonic, and is an open door to let Satan and his demons come into your life. 😢 (What about meditation?)
Everything has frequencies and anything can become an idol. (Exodus 20:3-6) We want to read the Bible, pray and listen to heavenly music not simply because it has good frequencies but rather because we love God and we want to be in His presence, learn of Him and praise Him. God knows what is best and that it’s through prayer, reading/studying His Word and singing/playing edifying encouraging Christian music that we receive the spiritual nourishment and all that we need on this side of eternity to help us endure and prepare for an eternity with Him forever!
Colossians 3:16 KJV, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
2 Timothy 3:15-16 KJV, “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
Isaiah 55:1-3 KJV, “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (2) Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. (3) Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”
John 1:1,14 KJV, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
For the Word of God (the Bible) is Jesus’ (God’s) character written in human language, and Jesus was that Word that lived in human form when He was upon this earth.
We also can come to know by what God’s Word says and our own personal experiences, the negative effects other music, entertainment (video games, tv, movies), fiction novels, etc can have on us.
Here is another example, some have been taught to believe that certain rocks or crystals have certain frequencies that can bring physical, mental or emotional healing. Yes, rocks and crystals as with everything has energy and frequencies but does that mean it’s a source or way God says we should seek to receive true healing of any kind? No, these crystals or rocks in this case, are idols (even if someone doesn’t bow down to them). As there is no true healing in any stone, rock or idol. Only the One who made these stones can bring us the true healing we need. ❤️
2 Kings 19:18 KJV, “And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.”
Daniel 5:23 KJV, “But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:”
Deuteronomy 4:28-31 KJV, “And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. (29) But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him , if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. (30) When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (31) (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.”
There are many examples where frequencies or vibrations may be used and when it’s hard to discern, along with prayer and studying God’s Word, also do some research of how it works, get some background information and if it’s something you are unsure of, stay away from it just to be safe until you for sure know it’s something the Lord would approve or disapprove of.
Take EMS devices for example, they use electric pulses through pads placed on the skin near muscles to be stimulated. This would be an example of something God would be okay with us using. 😊
I hope and pray this was of help to you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything else or any other way I can be of help, and I will do my best to answer or look into if I don’t know the answer. ❤️
Since the Word of God confirms that in the last days, there will indeed be modern day prophets, the question then remains..have there been any or are there any?
There have been many so called claimed prophets aka false prophets that have claimed to be Jesus themselves or have predicted the outcome of future events only to be wrong, sometimes multiple times and therefore they have proven themselves to be a false prophet (Deuteronomy 18:20-22) but again I ask, have there been any? Have there been any true Biblically proven prophets?
Praise the Lord, yes there has been. Her name was Ellen G White.
Now before you continue reading, as with anything else I may share or you may hear, I ask you to test her against the Word itself and investigate what she spoke and what she said herself and let her words along with what the Bible said determine for yourself if she really was a prophet of God or not.
1 John 4:1-3 KJV, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: (3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”
“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20 KJV)
1. Every prediction a true prophet of the Lord makes will come to pass – 100% of the time.
Here are just a few predictions she made that came true (none of her predictions haven’t come to pass or come true):
The Civil War – “January 12, 1861, just three months to a day before the first gun was fired on fort sumpter, the Seventh-day Adventist meeting-house in Parkville, Mich., was dedicated. At the close of a discourse by Elder White, sister white gave a stirring exhortation, after which she took her seat in a chair. In this position she was taken off in vision. The house was crowded with people, and it was a most solemn place to be in. After coming out of the vision, she arose, and looking about the house she said:” {GCDB January 31, 1893, Art. A, par. 1}
“There is not a person in this house who has even dreamed of the trouble that is coming upon this land. People are making sport of the secession ordinance of South Carolina, but I have just been shown that a large number of States are going to join that State, and there will be a most terrible war. In this vision I have seen large armies of both sides gathered on the field of battle. I heard the booming of the cannon, and saw the dead and dying on every hand. Then I saw them rushing up engaged in hand-to-hand fighting [bayoneting one another]. Then I saw the field after the battle, all covered with the dead and dying. Then I was carried to prison, and saw the suffering of those in want, who were wasting away. “Then I was taken to the homes of those who had lost husbands, sons, or brothers in the war. I saw there distress and anguish.” {GCDB January 31, 1893, Art. A, par. 2
“Then looking slowly around the house she said:” {GCDB January 31, 1893, Art. A, par. 3}
“There are those in this house who will lose sons in that war.” {GCDB January 31, 1893, Art. A, par. 4}
NOTE – Thomas Cobb, while drafting the Confederate Constitution stated “The almost universal belief here is that we shall not have war.” Alexander Stephens, the vice-president of the Confederation said that a battle with the Union was “nearly dispelled.”
San Francisco Earthquake, April 18, 1906 – “Well equipped tent meetings should be held in the large cities, such as San Francisco; for not long hence these cities will suffer under the judgments of God. San Francisco and Oakland are becoming as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Lord will visit them in wrath.” {LS 412.2}
NOTE – the above statement was penned in 1902.
“Thursday afternoon, April 12, 1906, Mrs. White left her home to attend the annual meeting of the Southern California Conference, at Los Angeles, and the dedicatory exercises of two sanitariums— Paradise Valley, near San Diego, and Loma Linda, in the San Bernardino Valley. The first few days were spent in Loma Linda, and during this time she had a remarkable experience, which she has briefly described thus:” {LS 407.1}
“While at Loma Linda, Cal., April 16, 1906, there passed before me a most wonderful representation. During a vision of the night, I stood on an eminence, from which I could see houses shaken like a reed in the wind. Buildings, great and small, were falling to the ground. Pleasure resorts, theaters, hotels, and the homes of the wealthy were shaken and shattered. Many lives were blotted out of existence, and the air was filled with the shrieks of the injured and the terrified.” {LS 407.2}
“The destroying angels of God were at work. One touch, and buildings so thoroughly constructed that men regarded them as secure against every danger, quickly became heaps of rubbish. There was no assurance of safety in any place. I did not feel in any special peril, but the awfulness of the scenes that passed before me I cannot find words to describe. It seemed that the forbearance of God was exhausted, and that the judgment day had come.” {LS 407.3}
“The angel that stood by my side then instructed me that but few have any conception of the wickedness existing in our world today, and especially the wickedness in the large cities. He declared that the Lord has appointed a time when He will visit transgressors in wrath for persistent disregard of His law.” {LS 407.4}
“Terrible as was the representation that passed before me, that which impressed itself most vividly upon my mind was the instruction given me in connection with it. The angel that stood by my side declared that God’s supreme rulership, and the sacredness of His law, must be revealed to those who persistently refuse to render obedience to the King of kings. Those who choose to remain disloyal, must be visited in mercy with judgments, in order that, if possible, they may be aroused to a realization of the sinfulness of their course.” {LS 408.1}
NOTE – the above statement was penned two days before the earthquake. On April 18, the earthquake struck! The earthquake lasted for 47 seconds. That 47 seconds was enough for the city to erupt in fire following the earthquake, which burned an area over 12 square miles – a district three or four miles in each direction. The estimated damage ran from $300M to nearly $1B. It is regarded as the deadliest earthquake in American history. The death toll remains the greatest loss of life from a natural disaster in California’s history and high on the lists of American disasters.
That Dairy and Meat would become unsafe to comsume – “Let the diet reform be progressive. Let the people be taught how to prepare food without the use of milk or butter. Tell them that the time will soon come when there will be no safety in using eggs, milk, cream, or butter, because disease in animals is increasing in proportion to the increase of wickedness among men. The time is near when, because of the iniquity of the fallen race, the whole animal creation will groan under the diseases that curse our earth.” {7T 135.1}
“There is no safety in eating of the flesh of dead animals, and in a short time the milk of the cowswill also be excluded from the diet of God’s commandment-keeping people. In a short time it will not be safe to use anything that comes from the animal creation.” Unpublished Testimony, July 26, 1898. {PUR November 7, 1901, par. 1}
“From the light God has given me, the prevalence of cancer and tumors is largely due to gross living on dead flesh.” —Extracts from Unpublished Testimonies in Regard to Flesh Foods, 7, 1896.
“The meat diet is the serious question. Shall human beings live on the flesh of dead animals? The answer, from the light that God has given is, No, decidedly No. Health reform institutions should educate on this question. Physicians who claim to understand the human organism ought not to encourage their patients to subsist on the flesh of dead animals. They should point out the increase of disease in the animal kingdom. The testimony of examiners is that very few animals are free from disease, and that the practice of eating largely of meat is contracting diseases of all kinds,—cancers, tumors, scrofula, tuberculosis, and numbers of other like affections.”—Manuscript 3, 1897.
“Those who use flesh foods little know what they are eating. Often if they could see the animals when living and know the quality of the meat they eat, they would turn from it with loathing. People are continually eating flesh that is filled with tuberculosis and cancerous germs. Tuberculosis, cancer, and other fatal diseases are thus communicated.” — The Ministry of Healing, 313, 1905.
1. In 1990, a New York Times Article was published on a scientist that studies the effects of animal fat on the human body, and he concluded that “If you step back and look at the data, the optimum amount of red meat you eat should be zero.”
“The largest study of Western diets and colon cancer ever done has found that the more red meat and animal fat that people eat, the more likely they are to develop this common and deadly cancer. Researchers said the study offered strong evidence confirming a long-held hypothesis that diet was an important factor in determining who got colon cancer.
Earlier studies had shown that when people moved from countries like Japan, where they ate little meat or fat, to countries like the United States, where meat and fat consumption was high, they were more likely to develop colon cancer. But the earlier studies had not conclusively shown that red meat and animal fat by themselves, rather than other dietary or environmental factors, led to the cancer.
The Surgeon General, the American Cancer Society and other groups have advised Americans to eat less meat, but Dr. Walter Willett, a researcher at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston who directed the study, concluded, ‘If you step back and look at the data, the optimum amount of red meat you eat should be zero.’” (https://www.nytimes.com/1990/12/13/us/animal-fat-is-tied-to-colon-cancer.html)
“The experts concluded that each 50 gram portion of processed meat eaten daily increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 18%.”
3. The China Study – In the later 19 hundreds, a comprehensive study over many years was performed on regions in Asia and some surrounding areas.
Dr. Collins came to find that in populations where animal protein was more highly consumed directly correlated with high/increased cancer rates, and when they ate less animal protein and fats and ate more plants, this actually not only stopped the cancer from growing but “turned off” cancer genes and other genes in the body that had been “switched on” due to diet/lifestyle choices.
This study is so neat! One of my absolute favorites. I highly encourage you to read the book or watch some YouTube documentaries on it. It brings so much insight. It’s such a well done study.
2. A true prophet of the Lord will receive dreams and visions – “And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.” (Numbers 12:6)
As we just read above for point one, she was given countless visions from the Lord.
3,4,5 & 6
3. When in vision there eyes will be open – “He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance , but having his eyes open: (16) He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:” (Number 24:4&16 KJV)
4 & 5) When in “vision” a true Prophet will NOT breathe nor will they have any strength in themselves and will collapse – “For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.” (Daniel 10:17 KJV)
& 6) Once “touched in the “vision” the Prophet receives supernatural strength – “Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,” (Daniel 10:18 KJV)
Account # 1: “Frequent mention has been made in this narrative to the visions Ellen White received, but little has been said of the physical phenomena that accompanied these visions and provided those who witnessed them with strong evidence of the work being of God. As she herself was totally unconscious during a vision, we must turn to others who were eyewitnesses of the unusual and thrilling experience. Several who had long acquaintance with her from early years have provided us with vivid descriptions. One such is J. N. Loughborough, who first saw her in vision in 1852 and declared that he had seen her in vision fifty times. He wrote: “In passing into vision, she gives three enrapturing shouts of “Glory!” which echo and re-echo, the second, and especially the third, fainter but more thrilling than the first, the voice resembling that of one quite a distance from you, and just going out of hearing.”
“For about four or five seconds she seems to drop down like a person in a swoon, or one having lost his strength; she then seems to be instantly filled with superhuman strength, sometimes rising at once to her feet and walking about the room. There are frequent movements of the hands and arms, pointing to the right or left as her head turns. All these movements are made in a most graceful manner. In whatever position the hand or arm may be placed, it is impossible for anyone to move it.”
“Her eyes are always open, but she does not wink; her head is raised, and she is looking upward, not with a vacant stare, but with a pleasant expression, only differing from the normal in that she appears to be looking intently at some distant object.”
“She does not breathe, yet her pulse beats regularly. Her countenance is pleasant, and the color of her face as florid as in her natural state.—GSAM, pp. 204, 205.”
Account #2: “Mrs. Martha Amadon, also acquainted with Ellen White from early years, after giving a similar description of what took place in connection with the visions, declared:”
“There was never an excitement among those present during a vision; nothing caused fear. It was a solemn, quiet scene, sometimes lasting an hour….”
“When the vision was ended, and she lost sight of the heavenly light, as it were, coming back to the earth once more, she would exclaim with a long-drawn sigh, as she took her first natural breath, “D-a-r-k.” She was then limp and strengthless.—DF 373, Martha Amadon, “Mrs. E. G. White in Vision.”
Account #3: “Individual visions were marked by various characteristics, some of which will be noted as the stories in which they are involved are told. James White, in introducing Ellen White’s experience in his Life Incidents in 1868, described the visions under four numbered points:”
1. “She is utterly unconscious of everything transpiring around her, as has been proved by the most rigid tests, but views herself as removed from this world, and in the presence of heavenly beings.”
2. “She does not breathe. During the entire period of her continuance in vision, which has at different times ranged from fifteen minutes to three hours, there is no breath, as has been repeatedly proved by pressing upon the chest, and by closing the mouth and nostrils.”
3. “Immediately on entering vision, her muscles become rigid, and joints fixed, so far as any external force can influence them. At the same time her movements and gestures, which are frequent, are free and graceful, and cannot be hindered nor controlled by the strongest person.”
4. “On coming out of vision, whether in the daytime or a well-lighted room at night, all is total darkness. Her power to distinguish even the most brilliant objects, held within a few inches of the eyes, returns but gradually….”
“She has probably had, during the past twenty-three years, between one and two hundred visions. These have been given under almost every variety of circumstance, yet maintaining a wonderful similarity.—Page 272.” {1BIO 123.8}
“In the earlier years of Ellen White’s experience the visions were almost always accompanied by physical phenomena similar to that described in the Scriptures in connection with the respective prophets. In the later years, her work having been established and accepted, the visions were usually given during the hours of the night, as the one described by Daniel in the opening verse of chapter 7: “a dream and visions of his head upon his bed.” Such night visions were briefer, more frequent, but of equal importance and value as the visions given during the hours of the day, accompanied by the physical phenomena.” (1BIO 122.2-123.9)
“It is also the large Bible held in vision in the Harmon home early in 1845. On that occasion, during family prayers, she stepped over to a bureau upon which this large volume rested, and picked it up. Placing it on her left hand, she easily held it at arm’s length for an estimated half hour. During the vision she referred, in short exclamations, to the value of the Word of God. Although in frail health, she was in no way fatigued by the experience.” {1BIO 92.3}
“The account of the experience has come down through the family from Robert and Eunice Harmon to James White, then William C. White. [In a letter written April 2, 1919, to an educator, Sarah Peck, W. C. White declared, “my folks told the story to me.”—DF 732a. Loughborough recounted the incident at the general conference of 1891 (The General Conference Bulletin, 1891, 145) and at the 1893 session (Ibid., 1893, 20)]. It was referred to by J. N. Loughborough, who reported that he got the story from Ellen’s parents, her older sister Sarah, and others (GSAM, p. 236). Ellen White made no reference to the experience, for as she was in vision she had no direct knowledge of what took place. At the time of the event she weighed about eighty pounds.” {1BIO 92.4}
7. A true Prophet will be 100% accurate. there is absolutely no margin for error – “The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the Lord hath truly sent him.” (Jeremiah 28:9 KJV)
Of all the prophecies that have been so far predicted, all of them have come true. Praise the Lord!
8 & 9: A true Prophet NEVER gives his private interpretation. He only shares what the Lord reveals. Scripture defines Scripture, not man. – “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” (2 Peter 1:20)
A true Prophet only prophecies in the name of the Lord. He only seeks to glorify the Lord. He will never seek glory to himself. NEVER! – “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 1:21)
“In these letters which I write, in the testimonies I bear, I am presenting to you that which the Lord has presented to me. I do not write one article in the paper expressing merely my own ideas. They are what God has opened before me in vision—the precious rays of light shining from the throne.” 5T 67.2
“Brother J would confuse the mind by seeking to make it appear that the light God has given through the Testimonies is an addition to the word of God, but in this he presents the matter in a false light. God has seen fit in this manner to bring the minds of His people to His word, to give them a clearer understanding of it.” 5T 663.2
“But I do not ask you to take my words. Lay Sister White to one side. Do not quote my words
again as long as you live until you can obey the Bible. When you make the Bible your food, your
meat and your drink, when you make its principles the elements of your character, you will know better how to receive counsel from God. I exalt the precious Word before you today. Do not repeat what I have said, saying, “Sister White said this,” and “Sister White said that.” Find out what the Lord God of Israel says, and then do what He commands.” {16LtMs, Ms 43, 1901, par. 26}
“This is the treasure that is found in the Scriptures. The Bible is God’s great lesson book, His great educator. The foundation of all true science is contained in the Bible. Every branch of knowledge may be found by searching the word of God. And above all else it contains the science of all sciences, the science of salvation. The Bible is the mine of the unsearchable riches of Christ.” {COL 107.3}
“The word of God should be thoroughly studied. All other reading is inferior to this.” {T17 174.1}
“In giving up His Son, He has poured out to us all heaven in one gift.” {SC 21.2}
“O how I long to see Jesus! I love Him, and the precious promises of His Word warm my soul.” {18LtMs, Lt 170, 1903, par. 7}
10. A true Prophet will look to edify, comfort, and uplift the Church body by his testimony as well as exhort them – “But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. (4) He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” (1 Corinthians 14:3-4)
“…but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.” (1 Corinthians 14:22)
“The word of God is sufficient to enlighten the most beclouded mind and may be understood by those who have any desire to understand it. But notwithstanding all this, some who profess to make the word of God their study are found living in direct opposition to its plainest teachings. Then, to leave men and women without excuse, God gives plain and pointed testimonies, bringing them back to the word that they have neglected to follow.” 5T 663.2
11. A true Prophet keeps God’s Law, and abides by the testimony of the Bible Prophets as well. If a Prophet does not agree with the Bible Prophet’s or does not keep God’s Ten Commandments, he or she is a false Prophet – “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20)
“I saw that Jesus did not come to abolish his Father’s law. The ten commandments were to stand fast forever. Adam and Eve broke God’s law and fell, and the family of Adam must perish. God could not alter or abolish his law to save lost man, who had by his transgression fallen so low that God could not accept any effort he might make to keep that holy, just and good law. Jesus saw the degradation of man, and pitied his hopeless condition. All heaven knew that God could not change or abolish his law to save man. Jesus pitied the fallen race and offered to take the wrath of God upon himself that was due to man, and to suffer in his stead. Said an angel, “Did Jesus come to make void the law of God, and by his death abolish it? No, no. If God’s law could have been changed; if it could have been abolished, God would not have given his Son to die a cruel, shameful death.” But the fact of Jesus’ giving his life for man shows the immutability of God’s law. Jesus gave his life to save lost man from the curse or penalty he merited by transgression. He by humbling himself exalted man. He became the stepping-stone to elevate man, that he might lay hold of the virtue of his blood, keep God’s law, and be brought back to eat of the fruit of the tree of life to which Adam and Eve forfeited all right.” {2SG 274.2}
“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin. A man may be a law-breaker in heart; yet if he commits no outward act of transgression, he may be regarded by the world as possessing great integrity. But God’s law looks into the secrets of the heart. Every act is judged by the motives that prompt it. Only that which is in accord with the principles of God’s law will stand in the judgment.” {COL 316.2}
“Passing down through the centuries, we find that there came a time when God’s law must once more be unmistakably revealed as the standard of obedience. Christ came to vindicate the sacred claims of the law. He came to live a life of obedience to its requirements and thus prove the falsity of the charge made by Satan that it is impossible for man to keep the law of God. As a man He met temptation and overcame in the strength given Him from God. As He went about doing good, healing all who were afflicted by Satan, He made plain to men the character of God’s law and the nature of His service. His life testifies that it is possible for us also to obey the law of God.” {8T 207.3}
“The question is often asked. Why do you keep the commandments of God? Did not Jesus come to abolish the law? The Son of God gave the law, and was it given only to be abolished? Did Jesus leave the royal courts of heaven to die upon the cross of Calvary, in order that he might give the world license to break the law? Is there reason in this? Was the wonderful, costly process that the Father and his dear Son underwent, only to abolish the law, and give men perfect freedom to trample it in the dust?—No, no. The Lord’s standard of righteousness remains as firm as his eternal throne. It is his holy law, and because not one precept of this law could be changed to meet man in his fallen condition, the Father consented to give his only begotten Son to die. To abolish the law?—No; but to save the sinner. The cross of Calvary is the unanswerable argument as to the perpetuity of the law of Jehovah. When the great Teacher gave his sermon on the mount, showing the immutability of the law of God, he was expounding the law that he himself gave.” {RH March 21, 1893, par. 1}
“Parents, ask yourselves the solemn question, “Have we educated our children to yield to paternal authority, and thus trained them to obey God, to love him, to hold his law as the supreme guide of conduct and life? Have we educated them to be missionaries for Christ? to go about doing good? Believing parents, your children will have to fight decisive battles for the Lord in the day of conflict; and while they win victories for the Prince of Peace, they may be gaining triumphs for themselves. But if they have not been brought up in the fear of the Lord; if they have no knowledge of Christ, no connection with heaven, they will have no moral power, and they will yield to earthly potentates who have assumed to exalt themselves above the God of heaven in establishing a spurious sabbath to take the place of the Sabbath of Jehovah. The tender mercies of this power will be displayed in prison cells and dungeons. Already preparations are advancing, and movements are in progress, which will result in making an image to the beast. Events will be brought about in the earth’s history that will fulfill the predictions of prophecy for these last days..” RH April 23, 1889, par. 5
“On Sabbath afternoon I had freedom in presenting to the people the necessity of obeying the law of God. It is not enough to say that we believe. We must have that genuine faith which works by love, and purifies the soul. God has given us a perfect standard of righteousness in his law. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.” This comprehends the whole duty of man to his God and to his neighbor. We owe to God our life, and all that makes life desirable, and when we refuse to render obedience to him, we rob and defraud our own souls. No man can choose his own way without deep ingratitude to God; in so doing he renders to God enmity for love..” RH March 5, 1889, par. 2
12. A true Prophet believes and preaches the incarnation of Jesus Christ. He will preach Jesus as God who came to Earth and put on humanity in order to redeem us all – 1 John 4:1-3
“Such is the character of Christ as revealed in His life. This is the character of God. It is from the Father’s heart that the streams of divine compassion, manifest in Christ, flow out to the children of men. Jesus, the tender, pitying Saviour, was God “manifest in the flesh.” 1 Timothy 3:16.” {SC 12.2}
The incarnation of Christ is a mystery. The union of divinity with humanity is a mystery indeed, hidden with God, “even the mystery which hath been hid from ages.” It was kept in eternal silence by Jehovah, and was first revealed in Eden, by the prophecy that the Seed of the woman should bruise the serpent’s head, and that he should bruise his heel. To present to the world this mystery that God kept in silence for eternal ages before the world was created, before man was created, was the part that Christ was to act in the work he entered upon when he came to this earth. And this wonderful mystery, the incarnation of Christ and the atonement that he made, must be declared to every son and daughter of Adam, whether Jew or Gentile. His sufferings perfectly fulfilled the claims of the law of God. None of the apostles could have filled the deficiency, had there been any.” {ST March 25, 1897, par. 8}
“The entrance of sin into the world, the incarnation of Christ, regeneration, the resurrection, and many other subjects presented in the Bible, are mysteries too deep for the human mind to explain or even to fully comprehend. But God has given us in the Scriptures sufficient evidence of their divine character, and we are not to doubt His word because we cannot understand all the mysteries of His providence. {5T 699.3}
“Ages before His incarnation, Christ distinctly chose His position. He foresaw His life of humiliation, His rejection and crucifixion, His victory over satanic agencies, His victory over death and the grave. He saw the world flooded with light and life and heard the song of triumph sung by the millions rescued from the hold of Satan. {21LtMs, Ms 77, 1906, par. 10}
“Jesus is the foundation, the author and the finisher, of our faith. Why are we so powerless? Jesus lives; and because he lives, we shall live also. He is to us a risen Saviour; not a shrouded Saviour in Joseph’s new tomb, which was closed with a great stone and sealed with the Roman seal. Mourn not as those who are hopeless and helpless; never, under any circumstances, give way to despair; but from grateful hearts, from lips touched with holy fire, let the glad song ring out, “Jesus is risen; he lives to make intercession for us.” Grasp this hope, and it will hold the soul like a sure, tried anchor. Believe, and thou shalt “see the glory of God.” [John 11:40.] {GW92 467.4}
“You may err in judgment, but do not lose your hold on Jesus. He is wisdom, He is light, He is power. He is to you as a great Rock in a weary land. Rest under His shadow.” {4LtMs, Lt 8, 1886, par. 21}
13. A true Prophet will show good works, and have identifiable fruits of a Christian. He/she will have abundant BIBLICAL fruits – Matthew 7:15-20
Not only did Ellen White endure many hardships with a faithful trust in God (as she lost two children and was widowed at 54 years of age), people that knew her and witnessed the grace of Christ in her, knew she was sincere in her care for them and they knew she had a love for Jesus above all else. Not only did she love the Lord but she loved those around her. Her works do follow her and God is the One who is glorified.
14. As mentioned in Part 1, gender makes no difference. Women or men can be prophets of God.
Exodus 15:20, Judges 4:4, 2 Kings 22:14, Nehemiah 6:14, Isaiah 8:3, Luke 2:36, Joel 2:28, Acts 2:16-19
15. Age makes no difference in being a prophet –
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (18) And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:” (Acts 2:17-18)
16. Performing miracles proves nothing – Even Satan has the ability to perform supernatural “healings”, etc. Miracles too need testing.
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (25) Behold, I have told you before.” (Matthew 24:24-25)
“For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” (Revelation 16:14)
“And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, (14) And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” (Revelation 13:13-14)
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7:21-23)

In this article we will discuss the practice of yoga and answer some of the common questions that are often asked by Christians and nonChristians alike in regard to yoga and such practices that often go hand-in-hand with yoga, such as meditation.
It’s important to emphasize and understand that exercise and stretching are indeed very beneficial to the body, and they should be incorporated into everyone’s daily life, but sadly, yoga is deceiving in that along with stretching and exercise, there is an anti-Christian (demonic) spiritual connection that is attached. Though it may seem innocent and beneficial on the outside, it’s impossible to do yoga without this spiritual connection. This is what we will get to discuss in this article today.
So what am I talking about? How can yoga be spiritual? You may ask; why can’t someone just practice yoga only for stretching and exercise, and nothing more?
As you may have heard others say before, we must always look to the roots or the foundation of a teaching. Why was it created? What is the purpose? And do the teachings go contrary to God’s Word? When we look to the teachings of yoga, we find that yoga is Hinduism at its core; you cannot separate the two. Each pose (called asanas) within yoga are specifically designed to pay homage to the many pagan deities or gods within Hinduism. Even each saying and ohm used throughout a yoga session is contrary to Christian beliefs.
Take the warrior pose for example, a pose even most non-yoga participants have heard of and know. When taking a little deeper look and doing some research into the foundation of the warrior pose, we find there is indeed a spiritual connection and intentional purpose within yoga to incorporate this three-part pose.
“..The pose Warrior I represents the Hero arriving at the ceremony with two swords in his hand. Warrior II represents the Hero focusing on his target and Warrior III represents the killing of Daksha with the two swords.” https://www.balancegarden.co.uk/blog/warrior-poses?format=amp
While many do call such a story a myth, many believe it to be history. Virabhadrasana or warrior poses I, II and III represent the three different stages in which the killing of Daksha happened by lord Shiva (one of the most feared Hindu deities, known as the “destroyer”).
Keep in mind, she is speaking about this same “power” that lord Shiva was given to KILL his father-in-law! This is grievous. Even if no one desires to use the “power” to actually kill someone, this is an evil example that goes directly against God’s 6th commandment to not kill or even have hate towards someone in your heart. And this is a demonic power they as yogi’s (one who is proficient in yoga) teach and hope to gain through yoga and such poses to overcome or “battle with the limiting tendencies in our minds.”
Outside of those that start yoga simply for physical benefits, not understanding the roots underneath yoga, many often times begin yoga sincerely wanting to overcome or work through genuine limitations or struggles they may be dealing with, whether that is healing from a past or current bad experience or trauma, an anger issue, anxiety, fear, etc; whatever it may be, I can understand. For whether we realize it at the time or not, we all are seeking to be whole and that leads us to look for something that we believe may help us to achieve that goal, and yoga is often one of those activities that many seek as a way of healing, escape, etc, when in reality as we will talk about later this type of activity has a false light and is an activity that Satan uses to get His foot in the door to someone’s life.
Keep in mind this pose and myth is just one of many well-known and incorporated poses and stories of the false Hindu gods that yoga participants desire to emulate; even if they may not realize it.
Even within the meaning of Yoga, we see its Hindu roots; for according to the medical dictionary, “Yoga means yoke or union”and that it “is a method joining the individual with the divine, universal spirit or cosmic consciousness.” Which in Hindu philosophy that “divine or universal spirit” is Brahman, the Hindu god. Yoga means to yoke specifically with Brahman or to be one with the Hindu god Brahman.
“The term yoga comes from a Sanskrit (sacred language in Hinduism) word which means yoke or union. Traditionally, yoga is a method joining the indivi-dual self with the Divine, Universal Spirit, or Cosmic Consciousness. Physical and mental exercises are designed to help achieve this goal, also call self-transcendence or enlightenment…” https://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/yoga
While some may truly only teach yoga or participate in yoga for physical benefits unaware of the teachings that go hand in hand with yoga (just as I did); many can attest to yoga, soon after, becoming more than just a physical activity that they enjoy partaking in.
Take these three examples spoken about in “Yoga and the Body of Christ” by Dave Hunt, “David Pursglove, a therapist and transpersonal counselor for decades, warns that those involved in Eastern meditation can encounter “Frightening ESP and other parapsychological occurrences..out-of-body experiences…[encounters] with death and subsequent rebirth..awakening of the serpent power (Kundalini)…violent shaking and twisting…” The Brain/Mind Bulletin warns that “such experiences are common among people involved in Yoga, [Eastern] meditation….” Another expert adds his sober word of warning: I advanced in the occult sphere so fast that I soon became the youngest guru in the Western Hemisphere, and one of the most advanced and powerful. Twice a week I taught you on television. Hatha-yoga sounds like a nice simple set of exercises; everyone thinks it is just gymnastics. I want to warn that it is just the beginning of a devilish trap.After I became an instructor in Hatha-yoga, my guru showed me that the only thing these exercises do is open your appetite for the occult. They are like marijuana; they usually lead you on to a drug that is worse and stronger, binding you so completely that only Christ can deliver you. Many people think that occult power is just the power of the mind. This is not true. There is a point beyond which the power of the mind ends, and the demonic power takes over.”
What about meditation?
When meditation or “dhyana” takes place during yoga, there can be certain ohms, phrases or words spoken throughout a session, but most often as I have experienced it and have found online, the biggest portion happens at the end, during the very last pose called the corpse pose or savasana. Called the corpse pose as you may assume because you lie down on your back like a corpse.Speaking about the corpse pose; “Lie down on your back with your arms and legs gently stretched out, away from the body, with your palms facing up to the sky. Try to clear your mind while breathing deeply. You might hold this pose for 5-15 minutes.”
“Yoga meditation is done without moving the body. When you do this mindful practice, you will get into position, either sitting or lying down peacefully, letting thoughts and feelings pass without judging them. You keep your eyes closed and your palms facing upward to the sky. Yoga meditation is often done in a class or with someone instructing you during the meditation..you may feel your body tingle or shake, especially if you’ve done a more vigorous style of yoga..”
“The humming or chanting of “Ommmmmm” is also commonly practiced during meditation. It is believed that “by chanting Om, we can align our frequency with that of the original universal frequency, which is essential in spiritual practice…the mind becomes aligned with the breath, which enable a person to get into an elevated state of consciousness called samadhi. The activity of attaining samadhi brings the materially absorbed mind under control, which enables a person to have one-pointed focus towards spiritual realization” (www.hinduamerican.org)
“Like the physical practice of yoga, dhyana (meditation) forms a profound connection with the universe by doing mental exercises to bring you to a higher state of consciousness. This connection happens in savasana when you are in a meditative peaceful state (Mohammad, 2019.)..”
This is why the study of the Bible is so important, because it so easily exposes the lies of Satan. Did you notice what was stated above about “letting thoughts and feelings pass without judging them”?
Without study of the Bible, the four quotes I shared from online may seem totally safe. Notice also mentioned above was “clearing of the mind” and “emptying of your mind.” These two statements along with the idea of letting our thoughts and feelings pass without judging them are ideas we will never find in the Bible. We will actually find the complete opposite.
We are called to test the spirits in 1 John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” We must test every thought and feeling that passes our minds with the Bible, for Satan does bring many thoughts and feelings through our minds daily and if we don’t have knowledge of the Holy Bible, we won’t be able to discern which thoughts are from the Lord and which are from Satan. And God says in 2 Corinthians 10:5, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” When we don’t have a standard of truth to compare everything we think and do to, how can we know which way is right and which way is wrong? It leads to many finding themselves involved in such new age practices like yoga, for even if they may not realize this to be the case, without having knowledge and a desire to heed what the Bible says, they are following their own heart, their own wisdom and the way that seems to be right to them. (Just as I have done myself.) Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” And this is dangerous. For they now are basing decisions based on subjective truth (decisions and options based on personal feelings, tastes, or opinions) rather than the objective truth of the Bible. Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
So, what does the Bible say that is opposite to “clearing your mind” or “emptying your mind”?
There is great danger in “emptying our mind” as meditation teaches. We are warned in Matthew 12 of what can happen when a demon leaves someone and isn’t then filled by the Holy Spirit but is left empty. Matthew 12:44-46 “When the unclean spirit (demon) is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”
So, what are we to do then? God does indeed speak about meditation, but Satan has twisted that to mean something that it isn’t. Rather than chanting, saying certain phrases or “emptying our mind,” God tells us to meditate on His Word. We are to dwell on and think about Jesus, as much as we can; His death, His resurrection, and everything about Him. How He is currently interceding on our behalf in the heavenly sanctuary above, how He is soon to come back and judge the earth in righteousness, how He came to earth as God in human flesh, “..was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” so we as undeserving as we are could have eternal life, how we can overcome all sin and shortcoming’s through faith in Jesus, etc. God tells us to meditate on the Law of liberty, the 10 commandments. God tells us that we are to renew or change our mind to think on things above where Christ sits, not on things of the earth. And to think on pure and holy things, esteem others better than ourselves, and rather than seeking what WE desire, we should ask, “what do you desire for me Lord?” Or “how do you want me to handle this situation, Lord?” And the list can go on, praise the Lord.
Psalm 1:2, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (2) But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
Psalms 77:11 & 12, “I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.”
Psalm 119:97, “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.”
Matthew 22:36-38, “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? (38) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. (39) This is the first and great commandment.”
Romans 12:1-3, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (3) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Colossians 3:1&2, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. (2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Philippians 2: 3-11, “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. (4) Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
And this can all be applied as well when analyzing such statements as, “we can align our frequency with that of the original universal frequency.” Yes, we have frequencies all around us, but Satan deceives so many to complicate the process of how we are to receive healing, peace, satisfaction, joy, or happiness in this life to name a few. When it is by simply coming to Jesus Christ in humility, confessing and repenting our sins, and by the grace and strength of Jesus Christ that healing comes.
God in His loves, give us the opportunity to choose which path we desire to take. Many simply don’t realize that what they are partaking is dangerous to their soul, and others sadly don’t want to humble themselves before God, they like being their own god and love their sin. John 3:19, “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
Can we really be “gods”?
Anyone who understands the depths of yoga and the purpose behind it can tell you that the many positions, poses, meditation and sayings, ohms or chants within yoga were never created solely for the purpose of physical well-being. As mentioned at the beginning, there is a clear “spiritual” aspect as well. Yoga is a known spiritual practice that also happens to include physical benefits. For it was within the Hindu religion that yoga was created for people to develop the “god” that they believe is within us all.
“Most Hindus would believe that we all have a soul and that soul is a reflection of God; so that individual soul that we all possess means that our natures are inherently divine and we can know God by going inside of ourselves. For Hindus the soul is reincarnated over many lifetimes and the goal of Hindu life is to achieve liberation from the cycle of rebirth, liberation from the cycle of suffering… One way to think about this notion of our souls being inherently divine is through the Hindu greeting of namaste, which is a traditional greeting in India and it literally means the divinity within me acknowledges and salutes the divinity within you. So in this simply greeting we see a core Hindu theological belief that’s articulated…”– Transcript taken from Youtube video on Oprah Winfrey Network called, “Introduction to Hinduism”
Even the common “greeting” or what many yoga instructors say at the end of a session “Namaste” openly reveals why Christians and others should avoid yoga.
Notice, within Hinduism it is believed that humans are inherently divine, in that they believe they possess brahman (their “god” in them) and therefore they believe that it is also by“going inside of ourselves”that we can know God. Is this a Christian principle? Are we inherently divine?
Thanks be to God and the Holy Spirit helping us to understand the Bible, we can once again see the lies that Satan likes to tell. For keep in mind, that he is the father of lies. John 8:44, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
This specific lie from Satan, that “man is naturally immortal” today deceives many to dismiss sin and to diminish the consequences of sin just as he was cunning to do at the beginning of creation. Genesis 3:1-5, “…And he (Satan speaking through the serpent) said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (2) And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: (3) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. (4) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (5) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Before Adam and Eve fell to the temptations of Satan and sinned, they walked with God in perfect harmony and in the constant communion of heavenly angels. As they walked in obedience to God, they were immortal on the condition of continued obedience but when Adam and Eve sinned, death entered in and hence the fall of humanity.
The lie of natural immortality is running around the world at a more rapid pace in these last days of earth’s history, for Satan knows his time is running short. Which includes the common Christian belief that the wicked that don’t make it to Heaven, will be still living for eternity in hell, where they are not dead but rather alive, but in a state of immense pain and suffering. Which is another variation of Satan’s lie that mankind is naturally immortal. (Click HERE for more information). Just as God’s moral standard (the 10 Commandments) was present in Heaven before this earth and mankind were created, and as in the Garden of Eden, there has always been a consequence of disobeying the requirements of God; death. “God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die..” For “The wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23) Yet in God’s great love towards us, even then God already had a plan to redeem fallen man so that we could have the hope of immortality by the sacrifice of His Son. “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
“…the Lamb (Jesus) slain from the foundation of the world.” (Revelation 13:8)
How do we find our purpose? Can we really look within ourselves to find purpose? To find God?
When we come to understand that there is a moral standard we are called to abide by; the perfect law of liberty (the 10 Commandments – Exodus 20:1-17). Please see: Are you a good person? It is then that we find the true state of our beings. We find that we are wretched, vile, selfish and sin loving. We see that we clearly have fallen short of the glory of God and His perfect standard. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23) We abhor the good things that God desires to give us and we love doing as we want, for we seek our own pleasures, we follow our own lusts of the flesh and do everything according to what personal desires and as our feelings say.
It is then when we understand our true condition, we come to understand we need to look to something much bigger than ourselves; we see our filthiness and our desperate need of help, cleansing, forgiveness and saving from that death that we justly deserve. Yet, because of God’s many mercies towards us, by God’s love and grace, we have been provided a way in which we can get right with our Father in heaven and a way in which our debt can be cancelled and cleared. Thanks be to God, He gave His only Son, our precious Redeemer Jesus Christ to take the horrible punishment on a wooden cross for you and me and then by the power of God, defeated death and rose again from the grave on the third day. Praise the Lord!!
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Isaiah 1:18)
If we constantly continue to look to ourselves and within ourselves to find purpose and happiness, it’s going to be a very disappointing and consistently discouraging path…We fail often, but God..He never has and never will fail us. Instead of serving self and looking within ourselves to find purpose, we can find true purpose by denying ourselves, surrendering our will to God’s, and looking to the Saviour of the world as our righteous and perfect example.
“Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after me, let Him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (25) For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” (Matthew 16:24&25) and “He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He (Jesus) walked.” (1 John 2:6) And how did Jesus walk? We could write pages upon pages of the details of His perfect walk on this earth but very simply put, Jesus did the will of His Father; He walked this earth in humility and self-denial, He put others needs above His own, He loved to please His Father, He obeyed the Commandments, He healed the sick and broken hearted, He cast out demons and forgave those deemed “unforgivable”, He lived a life contrary to the pride that was found in Satan and his followers, and most importantly, though He was equal to God and had no sin, in humble obedience to His Father’s will Jesus also “became obedience unto death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:8) “for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
His life displayed perfectly what true love and self-sacrifice is. He lived a life of humility and uplifted the perfect, holy and good 10 Commandments when He showed what obeying the 10 Commandments looked like. He died for the ungodly and for sinners, He was despised and rejected of men; even His own received Him not. He was bruised for our iniquities and nailed to the cross so that, “as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God” (John 1:12), and He “abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:” (2 Timothy 1:10) so that we could become kings and priests ever to reign with Him and His Father in heaven for eternity by the merits and righteousness of Christ.
By God’s grace and us heeding His loving call to repent from our sins and put our trust in our Redeemer and Saviour, Jesus Christ we become born again; the Holy Spirit now lives in us, our hearts and desires are changed, our life is no longer ours, and the work of sanctification and process of perfection begins until the day of Jesus Christ. (Phil 1:6)
The 10 Commandments as promised (Jeremiah 32, Hebrews 8:10 & 10:16) are written on our hearts and minds and we by the strength and grace of Jesus Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit can now walk in obedience to His Law, “..the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:4) and if we are diligent to stay within the Lord’s will and obey His Commandments, nothing can separate us form the love of God (Romans 8:39). “Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,” (Jude 1:24), we will be found spotless, covered by the blood of the Lamb ready for when He soon returns to take His faithful saints home to “ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
That means face to face with the Saviour of the world, our faith will be turned into sight, and we will never have to suffer anymore. No more tears will be shed, no more violence, sickness, disease, no more sin, and no more of Satan and his temptations. We will be able to fly from planet to planet, explore all of God’s creation; the many worlds within the many galaxies that He has created! (Promises of Heaven)
1 Corinthians 2:9, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
2 Corinthians 3:5, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;”
To conclude:
This Hindu practice of yoga has only recently been brought over to the West from India and has become a common practice for many worldwide. It’s even made its way into many churches, elementary schools, and college campuses. There are many grave dangers of partaking in such practices as yoga and meditation. And this is one way in which Satan desires to get his foot in the door of your life.
If you have or are still currently partaking in new age practices like yoga or mediation, please confess and repent (turn away) for your sins; even if you were doing it in ignorance. “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:” (Acts 17:30) God is so merciful and full of compassion. He desires all to come to repentance, for He doesn’t want anyone to perish in their sins. It is the precious blood of Christ that can set anyone free, no matter how far involved someone may be in the new age and the occult. No matter how far someone may feel that they have drifted away from Christ; there is hope in Christ’s shed blood. It is only Satan that is whispering in your ear that you have sinned too much or that you have fallen too far off the path. Only Satan wants us to diminish the sacrifice of Jesus, for His blood is sufficient for all sins; no matter how grievous. Believe His promises and give your life to Him today. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Pray, read, and study the Bible everyday; “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)
For it is only by the study of the Word of God in combination with prayer and faith, that we can fight Satan’s temptations and attacks just as Jesus did in the wilderness when Satan came to tempt Him. (Matthew 4:1-11)
I pray you are blessed by what you read today. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you abundantly!
Have you ever wondered if acupuncture is Biblical? Or if it is a safe and effective treatment for anyone to receive? Over the recent century, it has found more popularity and “success” in Western Medicine and has been practiced in China for thousands of years — but does that make it a safe practice? Is it something that God would approve of? (Please read all the way to the end, as the testimony shared by an ex- acupuncturist is life changing – I pray you are blessed!)
I say all of what you are about to read below with grace and so much love. By God’s grace; He has put me in the position to share what I have learned in hopes that it will encourage you to seek the ways of Jesus and help to shed light on this specific modality. 🙂
Introduction:
The choices we make will either fall in line with God’s Word and the laws of nature or they will go contrary to God’s divine guidance and we will be following satan’s path. “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24) And we see in John 17:17, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
When making any decision, we must test every thought and option against the Word of God. 1 John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” We must not let what thousands of years of Chinese history and many “success” stories determine if something is worthy of our time and acceptable in the Lord’s eyes. We must not let physical healing, how kind someone is, how successful a doctor/practitioner may seem; good feelings, emotions or miracles determine if we should ourselves partake in a specific practice or belief.
Miracles and good results alone should not determine if a practitioner’s specialty is something we should receive, nor should it determine if someone is to be trusted or believed; for Satan himself performs many miracles. If you read in some of my earlier posts, many received relief from the work I was doing, but the work I was doing was in opposition to God and was powered through Satan. (God also gives us many examples in Scriptures of Satan’s ability to replicate and perform certain miracles but only to a certain point and as God allows). And in the very near future, Satan is going to counterfeit Jesus’ second coming; he will be performing many miracles, and our only way of discerning if these miracles are indeed of God or Satan will be by the Word of God.“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20) No matter the miracles performed, if they are in disobedience to the Lord or are walking in a way contrary to what Scripture says, we are not to believe them no matter the miracles performed. Link
For we know that according to 1 John 3:4, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” Someone that professes to know the Lord, but willingly disobeys His commandments is working iniquity. (Take the Seventh day Sabbath for example – God’s fourth commandment – which is Friday sundown to Saturday sundown and not Sunday). This excludes those that are in true ignorance and love the Lord as best as they can, according to the light they have been given. In perfect timing, when the Lord deems best they will have the Scriptures expounded onto them more perfectly, as Aquila and Priscilla had unto Apollos, “expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.”Acts 18: 24- 26, “And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. (25) This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. (26) And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.”
There are even many well known and self proclaimed faith healers today (take Benny Hinn for example), many practitioners that pray or say in the name of Jesus they are doing the work that they do, and many that profess to be Christians, but what is their fruit? What are the roots of the modality? Does it fall in line with Scripture?
So what even is acupuncture?
“Acupuncture is a treatment that uses very thin steel needles inserted into the skin to stimulate specific points in the body. The goal is to relieve a health condition or symptom, such as pain. The practice comes from traditional Chinese medicine. Scientific studies have confirmed its effectiveness for some conditions.”https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/4767-acupuncture
“Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe the human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians. These pathways create an energy flow (Qi, pronounced “chee”) through the body that is responsible for overall health. Disruption of the energy flow can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points, it is thought to improve the flow of Qi, thereby improving health.” https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/acupuncture
When pressure (acupressure), needles or moxibustion (the burning of mugwort leaves on or near the surface of the skin) are applied to those specific acupoints and areas throughout the body; it is believed that yin and yang is balanced and proper flow of Qi can once again be restored, therefore healing and restoration can be brought back into the body.
May sound pretty harmless, right? Well…
Behind every therapy and modality, just as with any holiday, festival, and tradition there are roots of where or how that therapy or tradition came to be. When looking specifically into the roots of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), we find that Taoism (pronounced and sometimes spelt as Daoism) and TCM go hand and hand. They cannot be separated, for it is within the practice of Taoism that such modalities like acupuncture came to be and are practiced today.
“Just as Western medicine has been heavily influenced by European philosophy, it makes perfect sense that Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on the Ancient Chinese religion of Taoism. In order to properly understand Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is necessary to understand Taoism.” https://www.amcollege.edu/blog/taoism-and-traditional-chinese-medicine
Keep in mind; acupuncture points are not the same as trigger points. While acupuncture points are found along different “meridians” or “channels” that run throughout the body, and are based on Eastern religion philosophy. Trigger points are simply structural and based on the anatomy and philosophy of the muscular system; these points are found in the muscle tissue or fascia where injury or overuse of a group of muscles/muscle has occurred causing tightness, tenderness and sometimes pain in a certain area. Trigger points are not based in any religion or Chinese medicine.
So what is Taoism?
“Taoism (also spelled Daoism) is a religion and a philosophy from ancient China that has influenced folk and national belief. Taoism has been connected to the philosopher Lao Tzu, who around 500 B.C.E. wrote the main book of Taoism, the Tao Te Ching. Taoism holds that humans and animals should live in balance with the Tao, or the universe. Taoists believe in spiritual immortality, where the spirit of the body joins the universe after death.” https://www.nationalgeographic.org/encyclopedia/taoism/
“Taoism [is] the way of man’s cooperation with the course or trend of the natural world, whose principles we discover in the flow patterns of water, gas, an fire, which are subsequently memorialized or sculptured in those of stone and wood, and, later, in many forms of human art. (From Tao: The Watercourse Way). The specificity of this way of life is the need to adapt to the tendencies of nature. But this approach is not a mere return to Mother Nature so familiar to our New Age ideology. Rather it is a wisdom acquired by simply observing the flow of the natural world.” https://www.taopage.org/taoism.html
“The Taoists were most interested in discovering “the primordial qi:” the energy source from where all life comes from. As a spiritual philosophy, the Taoists focused on the source of life, coming from a chaotic “oneness,” sort of similar to the “Big Bang Theory” in Physics. From this “oneness,” which they called the “Tao,” came differentiation and opposites: male and female, light and dark, substance and non-substance: “Yin and Yang.” From the interaction of Yin and Yang, all phenomenon are born. Chinese Medicine, as created by the Taoists, focuses on this aspect of reality: the “Qi,” or energy that creates and sustains life.” Source
“In the beginning, there was an endless void, known as Wu Chi, or Tao. The Tao is a universal energy, from which all things emanate. (2) From this vast cosmic universe, from Tao, the One emerges. (3) As the One manifests in the world, it divides into two: the Yin and the Yang, complementary conditions of action (Yang) and inaction (Yin). This stage represents the emergence of duality/polarity out of the Unity of Tao. The “dance”–the continual transformations–of Yin and Yang fuels the flow of qi (chi) In Taoist cosmology, Qi is in constant transformation between its condensed material state and its dilute energetic state.”https://www.learnreligions.com/taoist-cosmology-3182590
Taoists believe that the misbalance of yin and yang in the body, blocks “Qi” or “life energy” to properly flow therefore causing sickness and disease. It is believed that through various religious practices and treatments like acupuncture (other practices also includes martial arts, yoga, and meditation – scary demonic practice of emptying of the mind), proper balance of yin and yang can be achieved, which in turn helps someone “achieve immortality” by being in proper balance with the “Tao” and nature. There are varying beliefs within Taoism of what achieving immortality looks like, whether by worshipping many gods, becoming gods themselves, or simply becoming part of earth by living in nature; the plants, trees, or flowers in spirit forever…whatever variation of belief it may be, it seems to be that across the board no matter the slight differences, all Taoists strive to find balance and harmony with existence and nature. And it is within the beliefs of Taoism that such modalities as acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine were created in the first place, but what does Scripture say? What does the Christian believe? Do they strive to be in balance with nature and depend on their own abilities to achieve immortality?
Contrary to “Qi” or “life energy”, scripture tells us that it was God Himself that gave us life and breath. “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7) There is a big misconception that our body and our soul are two separate things, but as we read in the verse above, it is dust plus breath from God that equals a living soul. We are all living souls. And just as God gave us life, it is God that determines our time to die (or go to the grave) and when we die, our breath will return unto God and we will return to dust just as we came into this world. Genesis 3: 19, “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
James 2:26, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith with out works is dead also.”
God also tells us that many precious souls would worship nature over Him who created everything seen and unseen, including His beautiful creation. Romans 1:20-25, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: (25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”
Rather than striving to be one with Nature or the “Tao” to achieve immortality now and for some in the afterlife as well, Christians understand that there is nothing of themselves or their own abilities that can give them life eternal or immortality. Rather it is through the merits and righteousness of Jesus Christ that we are worthy of eternal life; His shed blood on Calvary and leading captivity captive when He rose again on the third day defeating death itself. It is Christ and His righteousness that guides us and creates in us good works onto salvation. Praise His Name! Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast. (10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Titus 2:14, “Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
Titus 3: 3-7, “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. (4) But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, (5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (6) Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; (7) That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
What about the “Tao”?
Hmm interesting how they started one the quotes with, “In the beginning…” sound familiar? Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Taoists believe that everything we see today was created through a chaotic “oneness,” which is similar to the “Big Bang Theory…” which is evolution, as we know it today.
While the Bible believing Christian believes that the Word of God is truth and every aspect of their life is determined by it. The Taoist believes that the “Tao” is the “divine or correct way” while Christians believe what Jesus said in, John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
We also understand that this universe, world, man and beast were not created merely by chance. It is by the divine and inspired Scriptures that we learn that in the beginning of creation, God created life and all things in 6 days and on the 7th day He rested, and sanctified and hallowed the 7th day. Exodus 20:11, “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
God created man in His image with purpose and careful thought. Isaiah 43:7, “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” Evolution and Taoism sadly make people to be just a bag of molecules created by accident, with no purpose and hope.
The earth as we see it today wasn’t always like this, in the Garden of Eden before sin entered in everything was perfect; there wasn’t any violence, death, abuse, corruption, poor health, GMO foods, etc. Man was living in perfect harmony with God, with praise and thanks in their heart to their Creator. God didn’t create man to die, but to live in eternal peace with God forever…it wasn’t until Adam and Eve, the first parents of humanity broke the Creator’s law (1 John 3:4) when tempted by Satan and because of their sin; death, disease, sadness, and famine entered into the picture.
This also meant that the whole human race would now be born into a sin fallen world. This was his (Satan’s) plan all along; Satan knew that if he could get God’s creation to willingly disobey God, (and this still applies to today) God’s children would also receive the just punishment of death and perish just like Satan and his angels. Just as Satan hoped. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death;…”
Just as when you break the law of the land, you must pay a cost. For example, if you break the speed limit, the cost is a speeding ticket. If you commit a crime, depending on the crime; it costs a payment of money and/or jail time. This is a heavenly truth made manifest on earth. Just as we have a set of laws and rules to follow in the US, the Creator of the Universe also has a set of laws in which we are to follow. This being the 10 commandments. And rightly so, there is a just punishment and consequence of breaking God’s Law as well…which we read in in Romans 6:23 is death.
What Satan didn’t know was that God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit had a plan of redemption for fallen man. Jesus would come in human flesh to pay the price that we deserved. “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (8) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” (Philippians 2:7 & 8) He would take upon Himself the wrath of His Father for the price of the sins committed, and by His death make a way for us to be forgiven and be given the ability by His grace and imputed righteousness by faith to obey His divine Law; the very Law which we had broken and Jesus had died for our breaking. The death that you and I deserve, that Adam and Eve deserved, Jesus paid.
Psalms 139:13 &14, “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. (14) I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:…” God knew each and everyone of us long before we were born. And it was long before God planned to bring us into this world, that Jesus already had decided that He would die the death that you and I deserve so we could have purpose in this life now and eternal life with God forever. “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” (Titus 1:2)
“…the Lamb (Jesus) slain from the foundation of the world.” (Revelation 13:8)
2 Timothy 1:9 &10, “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:”
What does this have to do with acupuncture and Taoism?
Evolution and Taoism on the contrary teaches that sickness, disease, sadness, destruction, and evil are part of how this world has always been and that is how it will always be. Unlike the amazing promises of heaven, and the hope we have in Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the cross and His rising from the dead defeating death itself and the power of Satan. Belief in evolution, Taoism and Chinese philosophy undermine the Gospel of Jesus Christ for if evolution or the “Big Bang Theory” were true, then Jesus died for nothing.
What about yin and yang?
As we read in earlier quotes above, the relationship between Yin and Yang play a vital role in understanding the Taoist and Chinese philosophy. “It takes Yin and Yang to create life, and only when the two are harmonized will there be a moral way.”Source
As shown to the right, this well-known symbol represents the relationship of yin and yang. Yin and yang are explained to be harmonious and not opposing. Take light and darkness, good and evil, heat and cold for a few examples. They believe these things are to be in harmony with each other in order to attain life, optimal health, happiness and again to be in balance with the “Tao”; for this “symbol represents the movements of heaven and the Tao” and “the small opposing dots in each area represent that in all evil there exists some good, whilein all the good there exists some evil.” Source
The Taoist and Chinese philosopher sees every aspect of life in relation to the balance of yin and yang. Here are a few more examples; female (yin) and male (yang), night (yin) and day (yang), interior (yin) and exterior (yang), sour (yin) and sweet (yang), metal (yin) and wood (yang)…they believe this applies to organs as well; liver, heart, spleen (yin) and gallbladder, stomach, large intestine (yang).
The relationship between this “yin and yang” is the basis and foundation of the Taoist religion and traditional Chinese medicine but what do the Holy Scriptures say? “…that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5)
The concept of yin and yang oppose the divine Scriptures; not only was Jesus Christ sinless and perfect when He walked on earth in human flesh just under two thousand years ago, but God also calls us to follow after Jesus’ perfect example. He calls us to walk as He walked in 1 John 2:6, “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked” and “…Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)We are also told that we are not to live in harmony with evil, but rather we are to reprove it and depart from it! Ephesians 5:11, “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” And we see in Job 28:28,“…the fear of the Lord, this is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding” and inProverbs 3:7 we read, “Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the Lord, and depart from evil.”
We see this all throughout Scripture, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:22) & 2 Corinthians 6:14, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion that light with darkness?”
A child of God wants nothing to do with evil, and everything to do with the light who is Jesus Christ Himself. John 8:12, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
So, how did Taoists create acupuncture?
We must understand that under the religious belief and philosophy of Taoism, it was the combination of divination, numerology, astrology and spiritism that Traditional Chinese Medicine and the many modalities within TCM, like acupuncture and acupressure were created for the sole purpose to bring them closer to the “Tao”.
It is important to note as well that it is from this theory and concept of the relationship between yin and yang, and divination (which we will discuss further down) that the well-known five element theory (fire, water, earth, metal and wood), the 64 hexagrams of Yijing (or the I Ching Hexagrams), 5 Shen, Chakras and looking into the organs for certain meanings and emotions were created. Without going too in-depth, for this could be a whole separate study in itself, here are a few quotes in regard to these other tools created within Chinese philosophy. “I Ching is one of the oldest books of Ancient China. It contains 64 hexagrams and texts on how to understand them in the case of divination…In I Ching, each hexagram has its own particular meaning in divination. So do the lines of it. They represent yin and yang, the basic polarities of Chinese cosmology and philosophy.” Source“From this dance of Yin and Yang emerges the five elements: wood (lesser yang), fire (greater yang), metal (lesser yin), water (greater yin), and earth (central phase). Also produced here are the eight trigrams (Bagua), which form the 64 hexagrams of the Yijing (I Ching). This stage represents the formation, out of the initial Yin/Yang duality, of the elemental constituents of the phenomenal world.”Source
“The Five Shen are the spirits associated with each of the body’s five yin organ systems (Heart, Kidney, Spleen, Liver, and Lungs). The origin of the Five-Shen system is found within the Shangqing lineage of Taoist practice. Each of these spirits has a connection not only with a yin organ and its associated element, but also with the energy of a planet and a direction. To “wake up” the Shen of the organs is similar to “calling in the spirits” for a shamanic ritual. The Five Shen, when in balance, vibrate with a resonant beauty similar to the planets’ “Harmony of the Spheres.” Ultimately, within the context of our neidan (Inner Alchemy) practice, the Five Shen are returned to the unified Mind of Tao.”“Each chakra has a very specific yin and yang meridian counterpart. The Root Chakra corresponds to the Kidney meridian (yin) and the Bladder meridian (yang). The emotions associated with these meridian pathways are fear and shock.” Source
“The seven main Chakras are located at various points along the spine. They correlate with various Meridian points flowing along the spine. There are 12 main meridians 6 are yin and 6 are yang. Reiki channelizes the Qi/Ki life force energy through both the Chakras and Meridians.”
So, what about acupuncture and acupressure?
“Huang Ti concluded through study of the stars, that harmony and balance reign in the universe. His next conclusion was that man as the microcosm must correspond to the macrocosm. In other words, physical and mental processes must be put in tune with one another. This insight has found new emphasis in the psychosomatic school of our own century. The basic concept of acupuncture is thus philosophical in character, with a leaning to astrology.” Source
This should be an automatic red flag to the Bible believing Christian. For such practices is an abomination in the Lord’s eyes. For astrology and numerology are divination.
Deuteronomy 18:9-12, “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. (10) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, (11) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.”
“Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.” Jeremiah 10:2
Isaiah 47:13 & 14, “Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. (14) Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.”
God even gave us a verse showing that it is within the practice of divination that “answers” were found looking into the organs (this is different than scientific medical testing, like a blood test or scope). For we see this in Ezekiel 21:21, “For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.”
It is even within Taoism itself that many principles from Buddhism, Confucianism and new age philosophy and thought are found. They all have their distinct differences, and their beliefs vary in certain ways, yet in comparison to Scripture they all fall under the same categories: unBiblical, pagan and demonic. For they teach contrary to the teachings of Scripture and how we are to live this life. It is sadly under the deception of Satan that such confusing beliefs have come to be.
Christians understand that this earthly life is temporary, and that our only hope for eternal life is Jesus Christ. For this earth and everything on this earth will soon be destroyed and a new earth will be created. If we repent of our sins and put our trust in the loving and merciful Saviour; no matter the terrible deeds in which we have done, the “secret” sins in which we have pursued, or the awful crimes which we have committed against God and our fellow man. His grace is sufficient, and we can be forgiven and have eternal life with Him forever! By the grace Jesus Christ, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God will give us strength to obey His Commandments and walk in His light to overcome whatever temptations Satan may bring and whatever trials may come. James 1:12, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”
It is often the many deep wounds and the burden of sin that causes the many ailments we face, whether they be physical, mental or spiritual. It is the soul burdened with grief of their sin and sorrow of their ways that so often causes the many ailments of the heart and soul (body).
With any modality, even if we receive “healing” or “feel better”, if God doesn’t approve of it, is it worth opening a door to him whose only intent has ever been to kill and destroy us? Such modalities found in Traditional Chinese medicine like acupuncture and acupressure, open the door to let Satan in even if we don’t realize it.
That may seem harsh but it is the blunt reality that gets so often sugarcoated and downplayed, but it’s so important to understand that Satan “cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:” and Jesus said, “…I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) Any way in which Satan can tempt us, place doubt, discontentment, and lies into our mind and heart, he will. Any way in which he could lead someone away from Christ or farther away from the possibility of seeing Jesus as the true physician and true healer, he will. Any way in which he can get someone to disobey God and not see the truth of the importance of keeping all His blessed Commandments by the grace of Jesus Christ, Satan will.
Revelation 22:14, “Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”
Receiving acupuncture (acupressure or any of the other modalities we touched on briefly – paganism as a whole) is an open door and opportunity for Satan to get his foot in the door and deceive you to think that there is true healing outside of Jesus and the Biblical ways in which He uplifts. For I have heard it said, “That spiritual death happens one small compromise at a time.”
Oftentimes, because of our impatience and desire to be fixed instantly and in the most easy or convenient way, the result is typically us choosing to walk outside of the lighted and narrow path that God wants us to walk, and when we choose that path we cannot expect to be protected from evil in which Satan wants to bring.
“There are multitudes today as truly under the power of evil spirits as was the demoniac of Capernaum.All who willfully depart from God’s commandments are placing themselves under the control of Satan.Many a man tampers with evil, thinking that he can break away at pleasure; but he is lured on and on, until he finds himself controlled by a will stronger than his own.He cannot escape its mysterious power.Secret sin or master passion may hold him a captive as helpless as was the demoniac of Capernaum.
Yet his condition is not hopeless. God does not control our minds without our consent; but every man is free to choose what power he will have to rule over him. None have fallen so low, none are so vile, but that they may find deliverance in Christ.”
A concerned Christian
As we read earlier in Deuteronomy 18:9-12, divination and looking to the stars for guidance is an abomination in the Lord’s eyes, so why would we receive a modality that was created in this way?
James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God.Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Psalms 5:4, “For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; neither shall evil dwell with thee.”
1 John 1:6, “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:”
The following testimony comes from a Chinese doctor in Malaysia quoted in the book, “They Shall Expel Demons” (pages 135-136) by Derek Prince:
“About eight years ago, at a retreat in Singapore, God spoke to me about the dangers of acupuncture and its link to the occult, especially its inseparable origin with traditional Chinese religion. I immediately renounced my practice of acupuncture- a skill I learned in Hong Kong and practiced successfully for five years.
As soon as I came back home, I announced to my startled staff of doctors, nurses and patients that acupuncture is dangerous and that I had renounced it and would not practice it anymore. I gathered all my machines, needles, books, diploma and charts and made a great bonfire of them publicly. The total cost of the items was about $15,000- but the blessings after that were priceless because:
1. My wife, who had suffered from chronic migraine and had acupuncture, done by me many times before, was immediately healed without medicine or prayer.
2. My unexplained fear of darkness immediately vanished.
3. My medical practice, instead of suffering a loss, received a doublefold increase in blessings.”
Often times, in our impatience and desire to be fixed instantly and in the most easy or convenient ways, results in us walking outside of the lighted path that God wants us to walk, and we choose a path in which we cannot expect to be protected from the evil satan wants to bring into our lives. In the past I can attest to doing this myself time and time again, but praise God, the Lord never allowed me to receive true healing by these many different new age modalities. It wasn’t until I surrendered my health at the Lord’s feet, and I stopped using these different unBiblical modalities, that true healing began. Praise the Lord!
To conclude:
We all have the free will to choose to make whatever decision we want, but we don’t have the option to choose the consequences of those decisions. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death;…” Not only will we reap the eternal consequences of being separated from our loving Creator and Heavenly Father forever if we don’t confess and turn away from our sins, but we reap earthly consequences as well. We reap restlessness, anxiety, poor health, we lack peace, our sleep is disturbed, we are more easy to get stressed and upset, and the list goes on.. Galatians 6:7 & 8, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”
I say this all with grace and love, for someone currently reading this may not have known acupuncture and other new age modalities (as listed in this article and others – new age) aren’t modes of healing that glorify God. I can relate, I have been there too. “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:” (Acts 17:30) Praise God for His mercy and grace, that you are here reading this today. He knows just what we need, just in the right time. If you are grieved by partaking in such modalities; I pray your heart is comforted by the grace we can have in Jesus. Seek Him with all of your heart, confess and turn away (repent) from these modalities and sins that you know you have done against Him, and by faith accept Jesus’ atoning blood for the payment of the sins you have committed. He will restore you unto Himself. He will do a mighty work in you. He will help you turn away and learn how to live life without those new age methods in your life. Get into your Bible as much as you can, and pray as often as you can; thank Him, praise Him, tell Him your concerns, your worries, whatever it may…He wants to hear you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. He sees your heart and your desire to know Him and put away everything that goes against Him. We all have fallen so so short of God’s glory, yet His grace is truly sufficient. (2 Corinthians 12:9) Thank you Lord!
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7)
“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103:12)
We on our own cannot not do any good thing, we on our own have no ability to change ourselves, to change our hearts, our desires, overcome temptation and sin; we need the grace of Christ working in us. We need Him. ALWAYS. Every moment of everyday. If we give our will and our hearts to Jesus; we repent and turn away from the known evils in our lives, and we believe the Jesus’ blood cleanses us; He will change us; He will live in us. Praise His mighty Name! “..He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” (Philippians 1:6).
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I pray it is a blessing to you and many others. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you today. And if you have any comments, concerns, confusion, questions, or need prayer, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
(Please note that muscle testing or applied Kinesiology is not the same as kinesiology, which is the study of the anatomy, physiology, and the mechanics of body movement, especially in humans.)

Now, where are these answers coming from!?
What is muscle testing?
One source I found explains muscle testing as: “Muscle testing, also known as applied kinesiology, is a practice that allows one to tap into the subconscious mind to retrieve information about the body. It can be practiced on another or on oneself. The idea is that the subconscious mind knows everything there is to know about the body at all times, this includes the history of the body. As such, it can be accessed and asked questions to get a glimpse into the body, helping us see what might be contributing to conditions or symptoms. It can also help us get an idea about supportive foods, supplements, and contributing factors for symptoms. It can even help us uncover trapped emotions which can lead to physical symptoms.” Source
Another source says, “Muscle testing is a simple procedure with potentially complex implications. Like acupuncture, it is a derivative of Chinese medicine, and therefore ties into a belief that the body is governed by a network of meridians that convey energy. Despite its recent rise in popularity, muscle testing is not new, having first been introduced into western culture in the early 20th century. It is related to, and is also known as, applied kinesiology which is generally said to have been developed by chiropractor, George Goodheart in the 1960s…Originally, Goodheart combined the existing chiropractic and medical techniques of muscle testing with the concepts he learned from studying Chinese medicine. This brought him to the conclusion that every muscle in the body works in concert with a complementary muscle. Problems arise when this relationship becomes imbalanced, a condition he thought to be related to the improper flow of energy.” Source
Muscle testing is used in many different ways and in many different types of practices. It’s not applied or viewed the same across the board. Chiropractors, nutritionists, psychics, mediums, therapists, and other types of alternative healers incorporate muscle testing into their practice in various ways. For some, it is their main avenue of finding “solutions.” And for others, it is simply an addition to the work they do. Some use muscle testing to find trapped emotions, “healing” from past traumas, “healing” from generational patterns or events, what supplements or herbs someone should take, what health protocol someone should go one, what muscle needs to be activated, what food should be avoiding or eating, and this list could continue on.
There are many ways in which muscle testing can be performed. You can do the sway test, use a pendulum, isolate a specific muscle (like the deltoid) when muscle testing someone else, you could use your fingers, elbow, or the ring test, just to name a few ways in which muscle testing is often performed for the practitioner themselves or for others.* Practitioners and self taught muscle testers, will also sometimes muscle test an individual that isn’t even present with them, as in they aren’t in the same room as them, for they are at home, or are even in another state or country! 😦
Regardless of which method someone may choose to muscle test, the concept is the same, as you are asking the client’s body or “asking their subconscious” yes or no, or true or false questions. Those questions could be related to the past, present, or future. For the sway test, if you sway forward while standing after asking a question, it means yes, or true. And if you sway backward the answer is no, or false. The same concept applies for isolating a certain muscle, if the muscle “locks” or is “strong” after asking the questions, it’s a yes or a true, but if the muscle “unlocks” or doesn’t “lock,” or is “weak” the answer is a no or false. This same concept applies for all the ways in which muscle testing can be performed. These are all different forms of muscle testing.
This is very similar to the modern Ouija Board “game” of today. The same concept applies, questions are asked to this board and the players hands are literally moved to the answer. That answer could be yes, no, hello, goodbye or the answer could be spelt out with the alphabet or numbers provided on the board. Thanks to a few popular scary movies many fear playing with the Ouija board, as one should! For it is now well known that when using the Ouija board, you are indeed communicating with demons (fallen angels) and giving an open door to let Satan and his demons.
There are a lot of opinions and debates when it comes such techniques like muscle testing, as to whether it is legitimate or a placebo, but no matter the various views and opinions, the amount of practitioners that use it, or the “seemingly” great results that are produced, but what does the Bible say about it? How do many receive “healing” through muscle testing? How do we know where these answers come from?
As we read above earlier, muscle testing is said to be used to access the subconscious mind (which is defined as: existing in the mind but not immediately available to consciousness and the totality of mental processes of which the individual is not aware. Source & Source) It is believed by teachers and users of muscle testing that if we can access the subconscious mind, then we can have access to understand absolutely everything that an individual’s body needs to bring them the best healing and restoration of mind and soul.
Yes, we do have a conscious, subconscious and unconscious part of our mind but even if many are taught to believe that the answers are coming from the subconscious mind, how do we know that this is true? Who created the mind?
When the Bible is our standard of truth, there can only be two options as to our source of who is giving us the answers, God or Satan. There are no other options. Just as there are only two options as to the source of where the ideas and thoughts that come to mind throughout any given day are from.
Over the years, as I grew more familiar with “energetic medicine/healing” and learned to muscle test, it seemed my “intuition” and my ability to “pick up” on certain things that others needed was with more clarity and ease. Before seeing a practitioner that used muscle testing for treatment, I often already “had a feeling” or “intuitively” knew what He would suggest for me to take. One time, I couldn’t find something in my room so I muscle tested where it was and the answers I received guided me right to where it was. Though this did freak me out a bit, at the same time it only justified (at that time) in my mind that muscle testing must be an amazing tool.
Sadly enough, now looking back this “intuition” was only growing, the deeper I got into the new age, and as Satan in his cunningness would have it..such “ability” and “intuition” that many develop doing such work isn’t from God nor is it a gift from God as many believe, but rather it’s the work of Satan; a work that directly mocks the true work of the Holy Spirit.
Muscle testing, acupuncture and many other “alternative and natural” methods of healing fall into the new age and occult category. They may have different names or they may slightly vary in how they are practiced or applied, but they are all demonic in nature. They all uplift and idolize the creature over the Creator (Romans 1:25), the ability or power of the body and mind to heal itself (rather than uplifting and acknowledging the One who has made our bodies with the ability to heal), the ability of the practitioner doing the work, a false sense of control and power, and other unBiblical ideas. 😦
So what does the Bible say?
It is Jesus Christ that created all things, we see in Colossians 1:16 &17, “For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him. (17) And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.”
He made the moon, sun, and stars, the trees, flowers, bumblebees, and all things, including us! We have been fearfully and wonderfully knitted together in our mother’s womb and made us in His image, the image of God. Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
He also has created the worlds, and the universe; for He holds the worlds in His hands! Praise the Lord! If He holds the worlds in His hands, of course it an easy task for God to also heal and knows all things! “But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets…” (Daniel 2:28)
Isaiah 40:12, “Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighted the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?”
Daniel 2:22, “He revealeth the deep and secret things: He knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth in Him.”
No matter the feelings or “results” produced after receiving a certain type of modality or therapy, we must not let that determine if it is something that we should participate in, and that God is okay with. It should be a warning if we say or think such statements as, “I don’t know what this doctor does, it’s like voodoo, but it works!” Or “I don’t know how he/she (the practitioner) comes up with such answers”, etc..
If we let our feelings, certain “signs”, our own experiences or the experiences of others determine the right path, we will be quickly led astray. Even if someone says they are a Christian and says that they love the Lord, we are to test everything against the Word of God. Or even if a dear trusted friend or anyone tells us about this seemly amazing healing they experienced or heard about, we must still test it against the Word of God. 1 John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”We must test every thought and every idea against and with the Word of God.
If muscle testing is demonic, how is it that many seem to receive healing using it?
It’s important to understand that Satan can produce “miracles”, “results”, “good energy”, and signs as he is allowed. He can also cause pain and bring about physical symptoms; He will ultimately use anything he can if there is the possibility for it keeping someone or taking someone away from true faith and healing that can be found in Jesus Christ, but how does he do it?
One example: Someone could believe they have received this miraculous healing from a technique that is demonic or from a false healer, when in reality because Satan was the one that initially caused the pain or symptom in the first place, all he had to do was take it away at the time needed to make that treatment seem beneficial or a supernatural miracle that must be from God!
We read in Job, that it was Satan that killed Job’s children, caused him great distress and calamity in his life; which included giving him painful boils. Job 2:7, “So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.”
We also see in Exodus that Pharaoh’s wise men, magicians and sorcerers under the power of Satan and his demons were able to replicate many of the plagues with which God plagued Egypt through Moses, but only to a certain point as God allowed, but they weren’t able to protect themselves from experiencing the plagues. Exodus 7:10-12, “And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpant. (11) Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. (12) For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.” And even the magicians and sorcerers recognized this was God’s doing, Exodus 8:18 &19, “And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. (19) Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.” & Exodus 9:11, “And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.”
It’s important to know that there are also practitioners or “healers” (like Benny Hinn or Bill Johnson for example) that are excellent manipulators that have perfected through the influence of Satan the “art” of persuasion and hypnotism. Many precious souls experience what seems to be an amazing healing, to only find out that the next days or the following weeks they are far worse than they originally were and some even die. Due to putting strain on certain bones and muscles (for example) that they have never used or haven’t used in a long time due to their current serious health condition. 😦
Especially if someone believes that a certain technique will work or they have put their trust in a man and his “abilities” rather than the Lord’s, they will be that much easier to convince. I have personally experienced these “healings”. They often produced tears and good feelings. I shared in a previous post, how I experienced immediate results many times after receiving emotion code and when receiving other new age work, which I now realize were false healings.
After I came to see that the work I was involved in was demonic by the grace and healing power of Jesus Christ, the Lord healed my wheat sensitivity (if I had the tiniest amount of wheat before, I would get extremely sleepy almost immediately and go into what felt like a sleep coma for so many hours), healed many of my nut allergies, even taking away the fear I had associated to being around peanuts. Praise His Name!
One day after the Lord had healed me, I was eating some nuts and I started to get the beginnings of an itchy throat and the beginnings of an allergic reaction. I was tempted to doubt, but then the Spirit brought to my mind that this was an attack from the enemy. I went into prayer, asking the Lord if this was Satan messing with me and trying to get me to doubt. After I prayed, my symptoms immediately went away. Praise the Lord. I have had other experiences like this since walking with the Lord, but this one stuck out in my mind for me to share.
Instant gratification:
When muscle testing clients and myself, I always received an answer and I never had to wait for an answer. It was one of the reasons it was so satisfying and exhilarating; empowering! I got immediate feedback and instant gratification, no matter the question I asked. As long as I formed the question to have a yes or no answer, I got one. This is muscle testing. It was only the last weeks before (as far as I remember – could have happened other times that I can’t remember at this time) before my schedule went completely blank and I was done with emotion code, that I would have times that I wasn’t able to get clarity when muscle testing and I would tell my clients something along the lines that, “nothing was coming up” and not charge them for the appointment. I look back now and praise the Lord for not allowing me to receive “answers” from Satan during those times at the end.
The questions asked while using muscle testing could be regarding past, current, or future situations and was often used in what seemed to be innocent examples, like this; “Should Josie take Vitamin C? Yes. Should Josie take 500mg? No. 250mg? Yes. How many 250mg tablets should Josie take a day? 2? Yes. How many times a day? Once? No. Twice? Yes. And for how many days should Josie take these tablets for? 5? No. 10? No. 2 weeks? Yes.”
Sure, there weren’t any tarot cards present, no physical Ouija board, no glass globe or openly dressed or proclaimed witch to perform these predictions. Heartbreakingly though, this is still demonic. Satan in his cunning nature has made even the most innocent of techniques seem safe, when in reality these “innocent techniques” fall into the same category of work, which the Bible classifies as divination; an abomination to the Lord.
What is divination?
New Oxford American Dictionary defines it as the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means or unusual insight: intuitive perception.
And what does the word “occult” mean? According to 1828 Webster’s Dictionary is, the word “occult” is defined in the following way: Hidden from the eye or understanding; invisible; secret; unknown; undiscovered; undetected; as the occult qualities of matter.
And what the Bible say about divination?
Deuteronomy 18:9-12, “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. (10) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, (11) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.”
Leviticus 19:26, “Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment (divination), nor observe times.”
Ezekiel 21:21, “For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.”
Revelation 21:27, “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
Even if we pray before doing this type of work, or believe that we are doing it in the right “intensions,” neither of these things can change how God views this type of work, (let alone any sin or “new age” work) or the consequences of our choices. Nor will the Lord answer such a prayer when we are in the midst performing such abominations. Proverbs 28:9, “He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.”
It’s also important to understand that even within the new age, for example light magic vs dark magic, or evil energy vs good energy..one is made to seem like the better route, when the reality is that they are both equally of Satan. For we are not to mix good with evil or truth with error. We are to abstain from all appearance of evil, and we are to flee from the devil. 1 Corinthians 10:21, “Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.”
“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.” (1 Kings 18:21)
The timing in which we receive answers via muscle testing is another red flag!
If we in reverence and with humble repentant hearts bring our requests before God Almighty, in His perfect timing and according to His will, we will receive an answer.“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us: (15) And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” (1 John 5:14&15)
“And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.” (1 John 3:22)
When that answer comes and how that answers comes, isn’t up to us. We are to simply ask in faith believing that God will answer, and wait patiently for that answer. However it is that He answers us, we must be open to hear that answer (even if it’s different than what we would have ever thought), continue to seek Him in prayer, study His Word and patiently wait. (How does the Lord heal?) Psalm 27:14, “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)
He who has created us and given us breath, has also given us His precious and Holy Word to guide us in every decision we make. For 2 Timothy 3:16 shares that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
If we desire true healing, we must go to the only One that can truly heal our hearts and our infirmities, He who tries the heart and knows the desires of it. (Hebrews 4:12, Romans 11:33) He knows how many hairs we have on our head. He knows everything that we have been through and everything that we need. He knows it all!!
And it is often when we find comfort and rest at the feet of Jesus for our often infirmities, that our physical health and spirit is revived. And through the Holy Scriptures and help of the Holy Spirit we are also given guidance of the right therapies, diet, and all the best ways in which we can improve our health by God’s grace. So we can take care of the bodies we have been given, our bodies that have been bought buy a precious price, and we can best glorify our Creator and Saviour.
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
Back to the Garden of Eden:
When looking to the beginning of Genesis, we see God gave Adam and Eve specific instructions to not eat or even touch the fruit of the tree in the midst of the garden. After this, we see Satan tempted Eve to eat of that forbidden fruit. Genesis 3:1-6, “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (2) And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: (3) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. (4) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (5) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (6) And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
Satan and his demons have from the beginning of creation been attempting to deceive many into believing his lies for he hates God and knows that the timeline of his life is very short and soon to be over. And he wants to keep as many people as possibly from having eternal life through Jesus Christ because he can’t have it. For we see in John 8:44, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
It was in the Garden of Eden, that satan tempted Eve to doubt the authority of God’s Word. Satan tempted Eve to desire knowledge that wasn’t for her to know or understand, “…your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” It was this “secret” and “hidden” knowledge that was not to be understood by man that Satan used to convince Eve that there must be something better than what God had deemed to be the best. The wisdom and protection of God’s instruction wasn’t reverenced and viewed as authority over Eve’s feelings. For Eve, “…saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise,..” Adam and Eve walked with God in perfection, before she sinned but as God allows us to be tested and tempted, He allowed Adam and Even to be tempted and tested as well. 1 John 2:15-16, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
Adam and Eve had everything that they could ever desire. They had an abundant supply and access to all the other fruit trees in the garden, except this one.
Just as Eve fell to this temptation and to the many lies that Satan threw her way, Satan often tempts us to take our focus away from God and instead of going to Him in prayer and earnest study of His Word for guidance, we listen to the many suggestions that Satan speaks into our ears, the thoughts that appeal to our fleshly wants and desires, that “quicker”, “easier”, or that “more popular” route; even at the expense of spending all or a significant amount of the money the Lord has blessed us to have on new age practices, and other items that God doesn’t approve. (As I did; praise the Lord for His forgiveness and mercy towards us). He (Satan) tempts us to seek out the simple and easy avenue rather than turning to God in humility, and seeking for help and wisdom as Solomon did in 1 Kings 3:7 &9, “And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. (9) Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?”
Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
We often grow discontent and unthankful. Instead of opening our hearts to our Heavenly Father who longs for us to turn to Him, and we turn to the wisdom of this world. (Please read, “The Privilege of Prayer”)We often even start to idolize and uplift our own wisdom, our own abilities, the practitioner, and other modalities to figure out the answers, and are quick to run to these modalities and people for the answers rather then the Lord. 😦 (Just as I did)
It’s important to understand that when receiving muscle testing by itself, or when it’s used in a new age modality, you are also putting yourself at the will of the practitioner and trusting in whatever answers the practitioner gives.
“There is, however, a form of mind cure that is one of the most effective agencies for evil. Through this so-called- science, one mind is brought under the control of another so that the individuality of the weaker is merged in that of the stronger mind. One person acts out the will of another. Thus it is claimed that the tenor of the thoughts may be changed, that health-giving impulses may be imparted, and patients may be enabled to resist and overcome disease.
This method of cure has been employed by person who were ignorant of its real nature and tendency, and who believed it to be a means of benefit to the sick. But the so-called science is based upon false principles. It is foreign to the nature and spirit of Christ.It does not lead to Him who is life and salvation. The one who attracts minds to himself leads them to separate from the true Source of their strength.
It is not God’s purpose that any human being should yield his mind and will to the control of another, becoming a passive instrument in his hands.No one is to merge his individuality in that of another. He is not to look to any human being as the source of healing. His dependence must be in God…
…He (satan) seeks to encourage dependence upon men. When minds are turned away from God, the tempter can bring them under his rule. He can control humanity.”

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” (Psalms 118:8)
“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.” (Jeremiah 17:5-7)
Now where are these many answers coming from!?
Satan, and his demons communicating to one and another, and then telling you (the practitioner or muscle tester). For they have been alive for over 6,000 years. They have seen all that each of us have been through, including our past loved one’s lives. How can you as a client or patient or practitioner have confidence that the answers given through muscle testing should be trusted!? You can’t, and you shouldn’t.
The ability to receive “hidden knowledge” or receive any sort of “healing” through occult and new age healing methods like muscle testing to find answers is the same lie that Satan used to tempt Eve! It’s just masked in different deceptive and appealing to the eye wrapping paper. Muscle testing promises access to hidden answers, and secret knowledge that can bring healing, and answers to many questions past, present, and future pertaining to an individual’s or their families health and life. (Which includes loved ones that have passed).
Many may be using muscle testing or seeing someone who does muscle testing without realizing its unBiblical roots. They may truly believe that it is an amazing technique, just as I thought. I plead and pray with you and for you, if you are currently receiving muscle testing or you yourself muscle test..In His merciful kindness, the Lord is always willing to forgive everyone who honestly and sincerely seeks for that forgiveness, for doing those things that go against His Word.
And if you aren’t seeing the deceptive nature of this type of work, with humble hearts please pray to God for eyes to see and an heart that desires to turn away from all that the Lord deems unholy! He is jealous over you with a Godly jealousy because He knows that He and His ways are the very best for you.
I too was involved in all of these demonic practices, and even did muscle testing on my clients, family members, and friends in person and distantly..God is His abundant mercy has forgiven me and since turning away from such practices and other known sin, I have found true peace and healing in Jesus! No new age practice or muscle testing can ever truly heal, nor satisfy the longing and desires of your heart. Give Jesus an opportunity! He is worth it!
I encourage you to pray and earnestly seek God in His precious Word. He is faithful to give the answers we seek, if we search for His will in everything with honesty and integrity.

I pray this blesses you. May the Lord, Jesus Christ bless you. 🙂
God in His loving kindness and mercy often uses many afflictions and trials to draw us to Him. He knows what is best for us and what trials it will take for us to possibly accept His loving call. Those trials will either humble us and soften our hearts to His love, or harden our hearts out of our own choice to rebel and walk away from Him.
God sees and knows each and every one of our hearts better than we know it ourselves, for He created it. Isaiah 44:24, “Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;”
God sees all that we have been through, the highs and the lows, nothing is hidden from Him. For even the “secret” things are not hidden from God.
God has chosen what period of earth’s history and what family we should be born into and in what part of the world that should happen. The choices He has made and is continuing to make are only for our good and for our salvations sake, the salvation of others, and for His glory’s sake.
With all of this said, I think back on the life that God has so graciously blessed me to have. The family I was born into, my parents teaching me about Jesus and praying with us at a young age and the church I was born and raised in; for this foundation set me up to learn the truth. I also thank the Lord for the trials the Lord allowed and used in my life to draw me to Him.
It grieves my heart to think, that if it wasn’t for the many trials, I may have never wanted to know my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I thank God for my family and the many people that He has brought in and out of my life over the years.
I had a blessed childhood and a lot of wholesome fun, and many wonderful memories. I was sheltered and protected from many evil influences throughout my childhood, because of God’s mercy and the loving parents He gave me. I was blessed to learn many lessons early on and many of those lessons came because my sweet momma struggled with her health keeping her bed bound a majority of the time.
It was the many health trials, surgeries, and hospital stays over the years that weighed heavy on my heart along with the other trials that came with it. I love my mom and as a kid I didn’t know how to handle seeing her struggle nor did I know how to speak about it. I knew that God never gives us more than we could handle, and I knew He was there with us. But I shoved down most of what I felt and I put my focus and energy into basketball and sports. I put a lot of pressure on my own shoulders and being the oldest kid, I wanted to be strong for my brothers and dad. My dad’s load was heavy, and he was doing so much for us. I wanted to be positive and hold myself together, be strong for others.
After high school, I soon came to the realization that basketball was more than a sport to me. It was one of the ways I coped with the stresses of life. I am so thankful for the many lessons that I learned through it and the many relationships built but I didn’t want to let it go. It took me a long time to transition out of how to live life without it.
As I was learning what life was without sports and high school; I was meeting new people, making new friends, having a ton of fun and trying to figure out this new stage of life. I took a few college classes at our local community college, started nutritional therapy schooling, and even dated for a little bit. I moved out for the first time, I started my own business, I went to Massage Therapy School, had and made many great memories. Life was busy and I was having fun. I was working and taking things one day at a time, trying to figure it all out.
It was also during these times that new age healing was creeping more and more into my life, as well as my families. Growing up I had gone to a few different ladies that did bio resonance testing and other methods where it was by muscle testing and certain frequencies that certain supplements, homeopathic remedies, and recommendations were made and given. I had received acupuncture before and when needed went to an alternative doctor that used muscle testing as his main source for finding answers to health issues. So I was very open and comfortable with “alternative” medicine.
I don’t remember the exact timeline, but while getting into emotion code (and body code), which I will talk about later on, I also started to receive other new age work and help a practitioner with a new age technique as well.
It was also during all of this fun, busyness, and new learning that my health started to decline more and more, physically and mentally. I also decided to go to massage school to better equip myself with anatomy for this technique and to also help with my nutrition business. I also continued to have many big waves of sadness and depression, and physically I was tired all the time.
Through the trials; I was trying to figure out why I felt the way I did. Why I struggled with properly communicating things that were hard in life and the things I was struggling with.
I had so much to be thankful for, so I didn’t understand why I was so often feeling the way I was, not just physically but mentally. I was really blessed and I knew how blessed I was to have the life I did, but there was a lot of hurt and sadness that I didn’t know how to deal with. This included shame and guilt from many past mistakes that I had made. There was something I was longing for that I couldn’t quite pin point or understand.
After moving out for the first time (which was during the same time that I was going to massage school) I ended up moving home shortly after because I had a bad spurt mentally and spiritually. I spent almost all of the month of December in my parents basement sleeping and binge watching tv shows, and as typical no one knew but my family. I would just miss out on fun and hanging out with my friends for a few weeks and then get back to life never sharing with anyone why I wasn’t around for a little bit. It was a continual cycle. On the outside I was bubbly and super positive, (which was very genuine in many ways) but I was also struggling and didn’t want that to show.
Going back just a bit, before these new age techniques were introduced into my life, the personal health issues I had and the health issues my mom and family struggled with over the years was a huge reason I had so much interest in learning about holistic health and nutrition; I had a passion for it. I also had a very big opposition to Big Pharma and their push to hand out drugs to cover up symptoms, rather than treat the root cause. I saw the many blessings of modern healthcare, but also the corruption and it bothered me.
I had always had a love for holistic health and nutrition, and after graduating as Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I wanted to use the bits of holistic health knowledge I had learned growing up and in nutritional therapy school to benefit others and my own health. I had started my own business and I was very passionate and excited to share these truths of nutritional wisdom with anyone that would let me talk about it! I wanted people to experience the wonderful changes that could come by simply changing their diet and lifestyle! And I still do to this day 😉
As I started to see more and more clients, there were certain patterns that I was starting to notice. During many of my sessions most of our conversation was spent speaking about those really tough things they had been through and were going through. The common source of their struggles with food and health stemmed from these many trials in their life. Or the struggles that kept them from being able to stick to making continuous healthy choices in their life were often because of many underlying reasons.
This really made me sad and made me think. I knew that I didn’t have the answers that they needed, and that bothered me. I knew I could do my best to help and encourage them in certain aspects of their life when it came to health and lifestyle, and I could provide a listening ear, but I knew at that time there was no training I had received or research I could do that could help them with the emotional, mental, spiritual struggles and pains that they were going through. And it happened to be, that the same answers they needed and were looking for, were the ones I was searching for myself. I saw the many struggles in life, the passed down sinful patterns through generations in families, I saw the things my family and friends had been through and I wanted to help. I wanted desperately to help them heal and I didn’t know how.
My personal mental, emotional, and physical health struggles and questions led me to research more online, look to self help books and articles, learn more into nutrition, and to also see many different practitioners and body workers (many who at the time I didn’t realize were new age and incorporated new age techniques like muscle testing, chakra balancing, etc.) I took and tried hundreds of different supplements and tried many different strict “health regiments.” Some things would seem to help for a little bit, but then something else seemed to get worse or “come up.” I always seemed to be “detoxing” or “peeling back another layer” that was supposedly getting me one step closer to the source or root of what was causing it all. It was a constant and continual never-ending and unsatisfying cycle. I was so desperate for answers! And I was willing to spend as much money as my budget allowed. It consumed the majority of my thoughts and time. I wanted answers and I didn’t know how to get them.
After seeing endless practitioners and taking hundreds of supplements, I ended up getting involved with something specifically called “Emotion Code” and “Body Code.” Somebody I love brought it to my attention that there was a lady in Washington State doing this specific work “distantly” (meaning she would work on me while I was in Michigan, even though she was in Washington. I didn’t have to be on the phone with her or anything, she would test – muscle test – what “came up” after she was done. We will talk further about this later). This technique promised positive outcomes like physical healing, increased financial prosperity, mental and emotional healing in a very simply, easy and affordable way. Whatever someone was looking for, emotion code and body code seemed to be the “solution.” After seeing the many testimonies and doing some research into it myself, I started having it done on myself regularly and when something was going on physically or mentally I would instantly get this work done.
I distinctly remember one time when I had bumped into someone from my past; that next day I started having major stomach pain and diarrhea. I instantly went and got emotion code done, and what “came up” were emotions related to this person and to the time period in which this person was a big part of my life. After received emotion code, it got better immediately and my stomach issues went almost completely away not too long after; I thought it was absolutely amazing.
I started learning to do it myself, started practicing muscle testing and mainly worked on myself, but then started to also work on family and friends and during this time, and it took off from there. I was sold. I read the emotion code book, got certified in this training and transitioned my nutritional business to be mainly focused on the “emotional/spiritual” side of things using this technique because I thought I now had the “answers” my clients had been needing.
You’re probably thinking to yourself, what is “Emotion Code” or “Body Code”? Not all of these “emotional healings” or “energy healings” go by this specific name, but it was the name of training I received. Both of these are explained as the process of finding and releasing “trapped” emotions in your body by using muscle testing (applied kinesiology) and a magnet to release these emotions through “Jesus Christ” or a “higher power” if you didn’t believe in Jesus. This could be done whether the person was there in the same room or across the country, under “the science” of Quantum Physics. We were taught to believe that emotions could be from past emotional traumas, generational traumas, or really from any specific incident in a person’s life that could have caused their body to “hold on” or “trap” an emotion. And those emotions and traumas could get trapped anywhere in the body and be the reason for many reoccurring bad habits (sins – though it wasn’t referred to as sin), any number of health issues, food allergies, emotional and physical pains, generational curses, etc. And it was taught that through muscle testing, I (or anyone that received the proper training or saw an emotion code practitioner) could access the subconscious mind to get these hidden answers. This “healing” was so inviting and enticing because you not only could get to the root cause of something right away, but you could also receive healing instantly! I was ALL over that. And all you needed was a magnet and the ability to muscle test. I thought that I had finally found the answers that all my clients and so many hurting people, most especially my loved ones were needing and looking for. I was so excited and exhilarated.
Once I started doing emotion code on my clients, my schedule filled up quick. Surely justifying and giving me (what I thought was a great thing at the time) a “sign” that this was the right direction to go. Especially, when the people that showed the most interest were those that said they were Christians.
I do remember doubting if this technique was legitimate at many points and had many situations where God was trying to warn me. And praise God, He used those same situations to later remind me and help me to get out of this scary path I was on, yet I was enticed and lured in. I would often go to my family with concerns, and God used them and spoke through them many times to caution me.
As more trials happened in my life, my dependence on wanting to be healed through alternative and new age methods grew, and the process got harder and more confusing. I was determined that I could get my food allergies and many emotional issues healed through these methods. I couldn’t distinguish where God’s hand was. My earthly flesh and carnal mind could see all of those things about my life that I wanted to change and CHANGE NOW, and had hope that things could be different.In my inability to control the people and hard situations in life, I tried to gain control through trying to take means into my own hands. Romans 8:6-8, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject in the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.”
As I was continuing to use emotion code and see other doctors and practitioners that were involved in very similar methods, the more physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual symptoms seemed to creep in. I had never felt so empowered at first, but that faded quickly and turned into feeling more alone than I had ever felt before. I was becoming more fearful in life and was beyond anxious at all times, I started to have terrible nightmares and depressed thoughts became more frequent and whenever it seemed to especially creep up, it was with more intensity every time. Many times while driving I considered the idea of turning my car into a tree, or into the oncoming lane of traffic. I knew something wasn’t right with how mentally terrible I felt. I was at a place that I never ever wanted to go back to. I was completely lost.
It became so hard for me to even think straight; I was completely and utterly confused. I went from having this amazing “intuitive” ability to not being able to make the simplest of decisions. 1 Corinthians 14:33 – “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace…” I remember feeling like my mind was constantly buzzing and my eyes felt like they were bugged out. It felt like I was on some sort of drug and that I couldn’t get my mind to settle down or relax. All of this was so scary. I did not like feeling the way I did; it was horrible.
I truly thought throughout the whole process (with a lingering shame and conviction of the Holy Spirit), in my ignorance thought I was doing this work truly through the power of Jesus Christ. I always prayed before doing any work, but the god that the inventor of emotion code followed and the god I was doing this work through was not the same as the one I follow today. This was not the true Jesus Christ, this was a different “Jesus.” 2 Corinthians 11:4, “For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”
Without a knowledge of God’s Word, and an ignorance to Satan’s devices, Dr. Bradley Nelson (creator and founder of Emotion Code and Body Code) made this technique so enticing. For he seemed to be saying and giving many of the answers to everything I was hoping for, healing of the heart. Dr. Nelson testified of many receiving healing, I witnessed him over video successfully muscle testing and many openly speaking about the healing they instantly felt, etc. And after I started doing this work on myself and others, I too many times felt and witnessed, “healing” happened. There were very good feelings that were produced, many tears were often shed and many answers that were revealed to me that clients had never told anyone before..it all seemed truly amazing, but these “healings” were not produced through Jesus Christ, and these answers were not revealed by God Almighty, but rather through satan and his demons. See “Are all miracles and supernatural occurrences from God of the Bible?” “Can Satan perform miracles?”
This work was a form of demonic healing, covered up by false light.
This is proof of how the devil can be so smooth and deceitful even using God’s name in ways He wouldn’t actually approve. 2 Corinthians 11:14, “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” I was trying to fit this “Godly” form of healing into the Bible but later found out I never could. I came to learn that demons communicate with each other and can give accurate answers especially when someone is open to be influenced and easy to believe their cunning ways. For they know the patterns of mankind better than we know them, for they have been alive before Adam and Eve were alive. And therefore they also know the patterns, traumas, and personalities of our past loved ones as well. So it’s very easy for them to give answers and produce “healings” that appear miraculous to us, right at a time when we are not only searching for answers in any new age work.
Through the trials I had been dealt in life and the many questions I had, instead of fully surrendering to God and looking to His Holy Scriptures, I looked to self-improvement and healing through the flesh. I wanted to control and change the situation, circumstance, and my feelings instantly. I thought I could fix and heal old memories, traumas, hard trials, and passed down generational issues through emotion code and seeing other doctors and practitioners. I thought they would be the answer to all of my struggles and hard times. Oh, was I ever wrong, and praise God for that!
I knew that I couldn’t control outcomes and that I didn’t have all the answers, and that it was simply up to God. But at the same time, my actions and thoughts clearly showed that simply trusting in God and in His beautiful and divine timing just wasn’t good enough for me. I wanted to see and believe that God was answering my “prayers” by introducing these exciting ways of “healing” to help me. The enemy convinced me that my issues seemed too big for God to heal. The more I ignored that conviction and heeding of the Holy Spirit, the harder it was to make even the simplest of decisions, many decisions were made by my feelings and using muscle testing. I started to incorporate muscle testing into every facet of my life. It got so bad that for a little bit even when I would get to a stoplight or a stop sign, I would sometimes muscle test if I should go to the left or to the right. I know, scary!
It grieves me thinking back to how much positive (to me at the time) influence there was from people, majority being proclaimed Christians, social media, and books around me that made it seem like this was a path that was totally okay, and one that I should be proud of. Sure, there was hesitancy from some, and there were even many times I would experience shame when trying to explain what I did to someone, but overall I had a lot of support and I was often affirmed by others that the path I was taking was to be praised and encouraged. Without understanding what God laid out in the beautiful book of life, the Bible, the world made it appear like I had it figured out and in my ignorance I often wondered how could so many not get it or not want to understand and utilize such an amazing tool! I even thought that maybe this is what God had planned for me to do with my life, to educate and teach people how to understand the benefits and aspects of this type of work and healing.
(And praise be to God, for what Satan meant to do me and others harm, God is using for His good and glory! Through my own personal experience, I get to share and lovingly warn others about the demonic nature of this type of work, and Satan’s cunning and deceitful devises.)
I had never opened my dust covered Bible to see what God said about this type of teaching, nor had I barely opened it to see what God said at all. By the grace of God and the Holy Spirit convicting and guiding, and having parents that I could express my doubts and concerns to, the decision was made that a large part of my current hardships MUST be because of the work I was doing.
By God’s grace, almost overnight it came to a point that my schedule was no longer full. Actually, it became dead. My dad helped me get rid of these books, I stopped seeing clients, and soon left town.
After I stopped doing Emotion Code, I was still battling many things, still had many questions, but at least I did know that I needed to be done with emotion code. I soon came to the decision that going to live in the state of Minnesota for the summer would be best. Many of my friends were moving on in their lives and many were getting married. And many kids my age from my church and family were in Minnesota, so the opportunity came and I snatched it up.
I got a job that I loved and it was the first time I didn’t live by my immediate family. I ended up staying in Minnesota for longer than the summer, and really had a good time. In all of my continued fun and busyness, I was still distracting myself and selfishly running away from many things I didn’t want to face. Even though I went to MN to get away, it was one of the best things that could have happened. I went to MN in hopes of meeting someone, get married and live happily ever after. After not finding the answers in new age, I turned all the more to the hope that God would bring a man into my life. I am so thankful that it didn’t work out that way. God had better plans.
While this was all happening, my younger brother was coming to the saving knowledge and power of Jesus Christ. Every time I would visit home, I got to spend time with him. I could see the extreme changes that were happening in his character, actions and demeanor. We got to have a lot of good conversations. I saw who he was before, and now saw this new and changed person. I wanted to have what he had found. He had true peace. He was so different, good different and I wanted what he had. He had Jesus Christ.
I lived a life free from drinking, smoking, and went to church every Sunday. On the outside I looked like that “good church girl.” I truly was trying as best as I knew how to be a good Christian and person (that’s exactly it, I was trying on my own strength to be and do good*) but inside I was morally wasting away and burdened of my sins. I watched terrible wicked movies, listened to bad music, fell into swearing for time, had lustful thoughts and desires, read fictional romance novels and other fictional books, was very selfish, held a lot of un-forgiveness and was very proud. I was addicted to certain forms of healing, I idolized marriage, health, what people perceived of me and the list goes on. I would grieve my sin, but never actually repented and turned away from those known sins.
After a weekend trip to the Upper Peninsula, with one of my roommates, just outside of my hometown a car lost control on black ice and hit us. My roommates car was totaled, we both blacked out quick, I believe, but by the grace and mercy of God everyone was okay.
Once the adrenaline and shock wore off, I was sore, bruised, and fell asleep sitting upright, and five days later I had a panic attack. I thought I was going to die. I was super thankful things weren’t worse. Everyone walked away and no one even needed to go to the ER. Thank you Lord. I spent the next 2 weeks in my parents basement, mostly sleeping and recovering. The Lord was already working in my heart, but it was this accident and time of recovering that He really used to draw me closer. He was opening my eyes and ears spiritually already, but as with any big or traumatic event they often cause us to more urgently ponder those important questions. And now I had the time between recovery at home and life away in Minnesota to do just that. I was always on the move, constantly going it seemed and this forced me to be still.
It scared me to realize that it could have been my time to die and I knew I would not have been rising with Christ to go to Heaven when He returned. My life was not His. I knew why that accident had happened. I knew that I wasn’t heeding His call and listening to His many loving warnings, those many gentle and loving prodding’s of the Holy Spirit. The life that I was living was not acceptable in His eyes and things needed to change.
I was so tired of going through the motions of life, I was so tired of trying to figure out what was wrong with me and knew I was missing something. I filled everyday with fun, sports, game nights and movie nights with friends, family (which isn’t bad and is rather a blessing), and late night heart to heart conversations. But no matter what I did, I would often go home after every time feeling so empty. I was so tired of trying to fill that void with things that never were going to truly satisfy or answer the longing of my heart. I longed to be loved. And longed to feel whole.
It took a car accident to further clarify that the path I was on was leading to destruction, but I thank God for it and not letting me go to the grave then. (See “What happens when we die?“) The path that I was on, was in no way going to lead me to eternal life with Him forever. Thank you, Lord for your mercy towards me.
I started writing down my thoughts, questions and prayers to God in a journal. I started truly reading the Bible for the first time. After taking a few weeks to recover physically at home, I went back to Minnesota and there, God, at an extremely fast pace, softened my heart. God brought me to my knees confessing and repenting of all my known sins, He was changing me and the Holy Spirit was helping me to see and understand all of the bitterness, hurt and un-forgiveness I was holding on to. For the first time, I understood God’s love for me. It was no longer simple head knowledge of what Christ had done for me, it had translated to the heart. For the first time, the love of Christ overwhelmed me. I understood how much He cared for me. For the first time, I was able to let go of the many years of kept in hurt, sorrow and pain. For anyone that knows me now, knows that I am quick to shed tears, but for many years I had shoved down so much, crying wasn’t as common for me. This time tears flowed like they never had flowed before.
Over those next few months, He took away my guilt and shame,and gave me a new heart with new desires…that biggest desire being to know God Himself. I wanted to know God, and His love for me through His Son Jesus Christ. And with that came a desire to obey, a desire to read His Word, a desire to let go of and repent of my sinful ways. 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Over those months following, as the Lord was teaching me so many new and wonderful truths, and helping me to truly know the love of Jesus towards me in dying for my sins, though I was so unworthy of such a loving act. He was also helping me to further learn about Satan’s deceptions, His ability to “heal” and perform “miracles.” It took many months for me to truly let go and accept that emotion code, along with other forms of therapy that I was receiving were unbiblical, against the Word of God, and actually demonic. I was so tightly wrapped into these things. They gave me “security” and “control” in areas of my life to take place of all the other things I couldn’t fix, control or do anything about, but God was helping me each day by His grace to heal and work through years of hurt that I thought new age would help me through, when it was only Jesus that could heal me and help me truly work through those many things that burdened me. Praise His Name!
And it’s no wonder that no true healing ever would happened through emotion code, for God would have never received the glory, and it would have only made me more dependent on new age, and I would have never continued my search for what I had been always looking for..forgiveness of my sins and peace with God.
Romans 5:1,Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”
I am thankful for the memories and feelings that can come back so vividly, because it reminds me of how bad things were, how lost I was, and the true healing power of God. God not only has forgiven me for my sinful actions but He also has taken away the shame and guilt that came with all that I had done, not only in the demonic work I was involved in, but in how I poorly handled many situations in life. He has and is continuing to use it for good. With great confidence in what Jesus Christ has done for me, in shedding His innocent blood on Calvary for me, I can believe His beautiful promise of 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Until I sin again, I can trust that I have been forgiven for those known sins I have confessed and repented of. For they are lost in the sea of forgetfulness. They have been wiped cleaned from my record in heaven. And when I sin again, not only does it grieve me so immensely for the Spirit lives in me..because of the truthfulness of His Word, I know God will so graciously forgive me. He sees how prone we are to fall, how prone we are to take the wrong step here or there, yet He knows His honest children and sees we want nothing more than to serve Him properly. He sees we want to grow into the perfection and holiness He calls us to through His Son. And it is through our often missteps that He teaches us to evermore trust and depend on Him, and seek Him more fervently in study and prayer. What a compassionate Father and Saviour we have. Every time we come to Him in distress of heart when we have sinned against Him, He every time will pick us up and offer His loving hand to guide us quickly back into His loving arms full of mercy, goodness and truth.
“There are those who have known the pardoning love of Christ, and who really desire to be children of God, yet they realize that their character is imperfect, their life faulty, and they are ready to doubt whether their hearts have been renewed by the Holy Spirit. To such I would say, Do not draw back in despair. We shall often have to bow down and weep at the feet of Jesus because of our shortcomings and mistakes; but we are not to be discouraged. Even if we are overcome by the enemy, we are not cast off, not forsaken and rejected of God. No; Christ is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Said the beloved John, “ These things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.’” And do not forget the words of Christ, “ The Father himself loveth you.” He desires to restore you to himself, to see his own purity and holiness reflected in you. And if you will but yield yourself to him, he that hath begun a good work in you will carry it forward to the day of Jesus Christ. Pray more fervently; believe more fully. As we come to distrust our own power, let us trust the power of our Redeemer, and we shall praise him who is the health of our countenance.
The closer you come to Jesus, the more faulty you will appear in your own eyes; for your vision will be clearer, and your imperfections will be seen in broad and distinct contrast to his perfect nature. This is evidence that Satan’s delusions have lost their power; that the vivifying influence of the Spirit of God is arousing you.
No deep-seated love for Jesus can dwell in the heart that does not realize its own sinful ness. The soul that is transformed by the grace of Christ will admire his divine character; but if we do not see our own moral deform ity, it is unmistakable evidence that we have not had a view of the beauty and excellence of Christ.
The less we see to esteem in ourselves, the more we shall see to esteem in the infinite pu rity and loveliness of our Saviour. A view of our sinfulness drives us to him who can par don; and when the soul, realizing its helpless ness reaches out after Christ, he will reveal himself in power. The more our sense of need drives us to him and to the word of God, the more exalted views we shall have of his char acter, and the more fully we shall reflect his image.”
I can now with deep thanks, give praise to my Lord, King and Saviour, Jesus Christ for what He did on that cross for me, and for the sins of the whole world. He not only paid the price that I owed but He defeated death itself, by rising from the grave. He graciously and lovingly helped me through those tough times, even when I didn’t know it. And continues to help me through the trials that this life can bring. Everything that was happening was for my good then and now. He was drawing me to His Son as He desires to draw each and everyone of us to Him and I didn’t even realize it. Praise His Name! (Please see “How did I give my life to Jesus?“)
The old me has died. Romans 7:9, “For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.” I have been born again by the grace and power of Jesus Christ. Praise His Mighty Name! It’s no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me. Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
