This is part of a response I shared with someone regarding a question they had about frequencies and vibrations. (I have since edited some of it).
I hope you and your family are doing well. ❤️
I completely understand you feeling like you are walking on a fine line. I have felt that very same way before and in regards to frequencies/vibrations I haven’t gotten to spend as much time looking into or studying this compared to other topics but I can share what I have learned.
What I can say with something like frequencies especially when there are some circumstance that may not at initial glance seem to be as clear of a line drawn between what is right and wrong, what helps me if I am unsure is to pray and go into Gods Word and even if I don’t get an answer right away or I don’t understand what is correct right away, as I continue to do pray, read His Word and get closer to Him, He always helps me to grow in discernment, understanding, wisdom, etc..but until I do know and have the clarity I was praying for, I stay away just to be safe if I am hesitant or unsure.
Take the music example you brought up, there are studies that prove there are positive effects of classical music on plants and negative effects of rock n roll on a plants growth and also there are proven positive effects for someone’s health when listening to gospel music..just the same, think about the effects positive encouraging words vs negative hateful words can have on a person (Proverbs 16:24 KJV, “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”) these could all be considered forms of “frequencies.”
It was God’s intended purpose to use music to bless us and others and to praise God. We even have an example in the Bible of the positive blessing heavenly music can be for someone:
“And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.” (1 Samuel 16:23 KJV)
I can personally attest to how listening and/or singing hymn’s, scripture songs, gospel music has been just the encouragement I have needed time and time again. It has been something God has used and often does use to bring me refreshment, encouragement, etc
Now on the contrary, Satan was made with instruments in him. (Ezekiel 28:13-19) He used to be an heavenly angel named Lucifer that played beautiful music but when he was cast down to earth due to his disobedience and unwillingness to repent, he created demonic forms of music like hard rock, metal, rap, and other intense drum filled music. For Satan knows the power of music and what it can do to people positively(heavenly music) or negatively. Most music today can be the very cause of evil spirits to attach or come into people and most especially cause people to be more upset, agitated, vexed, aggressive, etc.
These could be considered frequencies but we need to be watchful as to where the line gets crossed. What do I mean? God doesn’t give us instruction to sing in psalms and praise God because they carry or have good frequencies, we miss the point if we are simply wanting to do those things because they have good frequencies. The same people that would want to listen to gospel music because of the good frequencies, also will want to do eastern meditation because that too is said to be a way of reaching certain “healing” frequencies, when eastern mediation is unbiblical, demonic, and is an open door to let Satan and his demons come into your life. 😢 (What about meditation?)
Everything has frequencies and anything can become an idol. (Exodus 20:3-6) We want to read the Bible, pray and listen to heavenly music not simply because it has good frequencies but rather because we love God and we want to be in His presence, learn of Him and praise Him. God knows what is best and that it’s through prayer, reading/studying His Word and singing/playing edifying encouraging Christian music that we receive the spiritual nourishment and all that we need on this side of eternity to help us endure and prepare for an eternity with Him forever!
Colossians 3:16 KJV, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
2 Timothy 3:15-16 KJV, “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
Isaiah 55:1-3 KJV, “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (2) Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. (3) Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”
John 1:1,14 KJV, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
For the Word of God (the Bible) is Jesus’ (God’s) character written in human language, and Jesus was that Word that lived in human form when He was upon this earth.
We also can come to know by what God’s Word says and our own personal experiences, the negative effects other music, entertainment (video games, tv, movies), fiction novels, etc can have on us.
Here is another example, some have been taught to believe that certain rocks or crystals have certain frequencies that can bring physical, mental or emotional healing. Yes, rocks and crystals as with everything has energy and frequencies but does that mean it’s a source or way God says we should seek to receive true healing of any kind? No, these crystals or rocks in this case, are idols (even if someone doesn’t bow down to them). As there is no true healing in any stone, rock or idol. Only the One who made these stones can bring us the true healing we need. ❤️
2 Kings 19:18 KJV, “And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.”
Daniel 5:23 KJV, “But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:”
Deuteronomy 4:28-31 KJV, “And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. (29) But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him , if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. (30) When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (31) (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.”
There are many examples where frequencies or vibrations may be used and when it’s hard to discern, along with prayer and studying God’s Word, also do some research of how it works, get some background information and if it’s something you are unsure of, stay away from it just to be safe until you for sure know it’s something the Lord would approve or disapprove of.
Take EMS devices for example, they use electric pulses through pads placed on the skin near muscles to be stimulated. This would be an example of something God would be okay with us using. 😊
I hope and pray this was of help to you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything else or any other way I can be of help, and I will do my best to answer or look into if I don’t know the answer. ❤️
In this article we will discuss the practice of yoga and answer some of the common questions that are often asked by Christians and nonChristians alike in regard to yoga and such practices that often go hand-in-hand with yoga, such as meditation.
It’s important to emphasize and understand that exercise and stretching are indeed very beneficial to the body, and they should be incorporated into everyone’s daily life, but sadly, yoga is deceiving in that along with stretching and exercise, there is an anti-Christian (demonic) spiritual connection that is attached. Though it may seem innocent and beneficial on the outside, it’s impossible to do yoga without this spiritual connection. This is what we will get to discuss in this article today.
So what am I talking about? How can yoga be spiritual? You may ask; why can’t someone just practice yoga only for stretching and exercise, and nothing more?
As you may have heard others say before, we must always look to the roots or the foundation of a teaching. Why was it created? What is the purpose? And do the teachings go contrary to God’s Word? When we look to the teachings of yoga, we find that yoga is Hinduism at its core; you cannot separate the two. Each pose (called asanas) within yoga are specifically designed to pay homage to the many pagan deities or gods within Hinduism. Even each saying and ohm used throughout a yoga session is contrary to Christian beliefs.
Take the warrior pose for example, a pose even most non-yoga participants have heard of and know. When taking a little deeper look and doing some research into the foundation of the warrior pose, we find there is indeed a spiritual connection and intentional purpose within yoga to incorporate this three-part pose.
“..The pose Warrior I represents the Hero arriving at the ceremony with two swords in his hand. Warrior II represents the Hero focusing on his target and Warrior III represents the killing of Daksha with the two swords.” https://www.balancegarden.co.uk/blog/warrior-poses?format=amp
While many do call such a story a myth, many believe it to be history. Virabhadrasana or warrior poses I, II and III represent the three different stages in which the killing of Daksha happened by lord Shiva (one of the most feared Hindu deities, known as the “destroyer”).
Keep in mind, she is speaking about this same “power” that lord Shiva was given to KILL his father-in-law! This is grievous. Even if no one desires to use the “power” to actually kill someone, this is an evil example that goes directly against God’s 6th commandment to not kill or even have hate towards someone in your heart. And this is a demonic power they as yogi’s (one who is proficient in yoga) teach and hope to gain through yoga and such poses to overcome or “battle with the limiting tendencies in our minds.”
Outside of those that start yoga simply for physical benefits, not understanding the roots underneath yoga, many often times begin yoga sincerely wanting to overcome or work through genuine limitations or struggles they may be dealing with, whether that is healing from a past or current bad experience or trauma, an anger issue, anxiety, fear, etc; whatever it may be, I can understand. For whether we realize it at the time or not, we all are seeking to be whole and that leads us to look for something that we believe may help us to achieve that goal, and yoga is often one of those activities that many seek as a way of healing, escape, etc, when in reality as we will talk about later this type of activity has a false light and is an activity that Satan uses to get His foot in the door to someone’s life.
Keep in mind this pose and myth is just one of many well-known and incorporated poses and stories of the false Hindu gods that yoga participants desire to emulate; even if they may not realize it.
Even within the meaning of Yoga, we see its Hindu roots; for according to the medical dictionary, “Yoga means yoke or union”and that it “is a method joining the individual with the divine, universal spirit or cosmic consciousness.” Which in Hindu philosophy that “divine or universal spirit” is Brahman, the Hindu god. Yoga means to yoke specifically with Brahman or to be one with the Hindu god Brahman.
“The term yoga comes from a Sanskrit (sacred language in Hinduism) word which means yoke or union. Traditionally, yoga is a method joining the indivi-dual self with the Divine, Universal Spirit, or Cosmic Consciousness. Physical and mental exercises are designed to help achieve this goal, also call self-transcendence or enlightenment…” https://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/yoga
While some may truly only teach yoga or participate in yoga for physical benefits unaware of the teachings that go hand in hand with yoga (just as I did); many can attest to yoga, soon after, becoming more than just a physical activity that they enjoy partaking in.
Take these three examples spoken about in “Yoga and the Body of Christ” by Dave Hunt, “David Pursglove, a therapist and transpersonal counselor for decades, warns that those involved in Eastern meditation can encounter “Frightening ESP and other parapsychological occurrences..out-of-body experiences…[encounters] with death and subsequent rebirth..awakening of the serpent power (Kundalini)…violent shaking and twisting…” The Brain/Mind Bulletin warns that “such experiences are common among people involved in Yoga, [Eastern] meditation….” Another expert adds his sober word of warning: I advanced in the occult sphere so fast that I soon became the youngest guru in the Western Hemisphere, and one of the most advanced and powerful. Twice a week I taught you on television. Hatha-yoga sounds like a nice simple set of exercises; everyone thinks it is just gymnastics. I want to warn that it is just the beginning of a devilish trap. After I became an instructor in Hatha-yoga, my guru showed me that the only thing these exercises do is open your appetite for the occult. They are like marijuana; they usually lead you on to a drug that is worse and stronger, binding you so completely that only Christ can deliver you. Many people think that occult power is just the power of the mind. This is not true. There is a point beyond which the power of the mind ends, and the demonic power takes over.”
What about meditation?
When meditation or “dhyana” takes place during yoga, there can be certain ohms, phrases or words spoken throughout a session, but most often as I have experienced it and have found online, the biggest portion happens at the end, during the very last pose called the corpse pose or savasana. Called the corpse pose as you may assume because you lie down on your back like a corpse.Speaking about the corpse pose; “Lie down on your back with your arms and legs gently stretched out, away from the body, with your palms facing up to the sky. Try to clear your mind while breathing deeply. You might hold this pose for 5-15 minutes.”
“Yoga meditation is done without moving the body. When you do this mindful practice, you will get into position, either sitting or lying down peacefully, letting thoughts and feelings pass without judging them. You keep your eyes closed and your palms facing upward to the sky. Yoga meditation is often done in a class or with someone instructing you during the meditation..you may feel your body tingle or shake, especially if you’ve done a more vigorous style of yoga..”
“The humming or chanting of “Ommmmmm” is also commonly practiced during meditation. It is believed that “by chanting Om, we can align our frequency with that of the original universal frequency, which is essential in spiritual practice…the mind becomes aligned with the breath, which enable a person to get into an elevated state of consciousness called samadhi. The activity of attaining samadhi brings the materially absorbed mind under control, which enables a person to have one-pointed focus towards spiritual realization” (www.hinduamerican.org)
“Like the physical practice of yoga, dhyana (meditation) forms a profound connection with the universe by doing mental exercises to bring you to a higher state of consciousness. This connection happens in savasana when you are in a meditative peaceful state (Mohammad, 2019.)..”
This is why the study of the Bible is so important, because it so easily exposes the lies of Satan. Did you notice what was stated above about “letting thoughts and feelings pass without judging them”?
Without study of the Bible, the four quotes I shared from online may seem totally safe. Notice also mentioned above was “clearing of the mind” and “emptying of your mind.” These two statements along with the idea of letting our thoughts and feelings pass without judging them are ideas we will never find in the Bible. We will actually find the complete opposite.
We are called to test the spirits in 1 John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” We must test every thought and feeling that passes our minds with the Bible, for Satan does bring many thoughts and feelings through our minds daily and if we don’t have knowledge of the Holy Bible, we won’t be able to discern which thoughts are from the Lord and which are from Satan. And God says in 2 Corinthians 10:5, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” When we don’t have a standard of truth to compare everything we think and do to, how can we know which way is right and which way is wrong? It leads to many finding themselves involved in such new age practices like yoga, for even if they may not realize this to be the case, without having knowledge and a desire to heed what the Bible says, they are following their own heart, their own wisdom and the way that seems to be right to them. (Just as I have done myself.) Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” And this is dangerous. For they now are basing decisions based on subjective truth (decisions and options based on personal feelings, tastes, or opinions) rather than the objective truth of the Bible. Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
So, what does the Bible say that is opposite to “clearing your mind” or “emptying your mind”?
There is great danger in “emptying our mind” as meditation teaches. We are warned in Matthew 12 of what can happen when a demon leaves someone and isn’t then filled by the Holy Spirit but is left empty. Matthew 12:44-46 “When the unclean spirit (demon) is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”
So, what are we to do then? God does indeed speak about meditation, but Satan has twisted that to mean something that it isn’t. Rather than chanting, saying certain phrases or “emptying our mind,” God tells us to meditate on His Word. We are to dwell on and think about Jesus, as much as we can; His death, His resurrection, and everything about Him. How He is currently interceding on our behalf in the heavenly sanctuary above, how He is soon to come back and judge the earth in righteousness, how He came to earth as God in human flesh, “..was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” so we as undeserving as we are could have eternal life, how we can overcome all sin and shortcoming’s through faith in Jesus, etc. God tells us to meditate on the Law of liberty, the 10 commandments. God tells us that we are to renew or change our mind to think on things above where Christ sits, not on things of the earth. And to think on pure and holy things, esteem others better than ourselves, and rather than seeking what WE desire, we should ask, “what do you desire for me Lord?” Or “how do you want me to handle this situation, Lord?” And the list can go on, praise the Lord.
Psalm 1:2, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (2) But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
Psalms 77:11 & 12, “I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.”
Psalm 119:97, “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.”
Matthew 22:36-38, “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? (38) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. (39) This is the first and great commandment.”
Romans 12:1-3, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (3) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Colossians 3:1&2, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. (2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Philippians 2: 3-11, “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. (4) Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
And this can all be applied as well when analyzing such statements as, “we can align our frequency with that of the original universal frequency.” Yes, we have frequencies all around us, but Satan deceives so many to complicate the process of how we are to receive healing, peace, satisfaction, joy, or happiness in this life to name a few. When it is by simply coming to Jesus Christ in humility, confessing and repenting our sins, and by the grace and strength of Jesus Christ that healing comes.
God in His loves, give us the opportunity to choose which path we desire to take. Many simply don’t realize that what they are partaking is dangerous to their soul, and others sadly don’t want to humble themselves before God, they like being their own god and love their sin. John 3:19, “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
Can we really be “gods”?
Anyone who understands the depths of yoga and the purpose behind it can tell you that the many positions, poses, meditation and sayings, ohms or chants within yoga were never created solely for the purpose of physical well-being. As mentioned at the beginning, there is a clear “spiritual” aspect as well. Yoga is a known spiritual practice that also happens to include physical benefits. For it was within the Hindu religion that yoga was created for people to develop the “god” that they believe is within us all.
“Most Hindus would believe that we all have a soul and that soul is a reflection of God; so that individual soul that we all possess means that our natures are inherently divine and we can know God by going inside of ourselves. For Hindus the soul is reincarnated over many lifetimes and the goal of Hindu life is to achieve liberation from the cycle of rebirth, liberation from the cycle of suffering… One way to think about this notion of our souls being inherently divine is through the Hindu greeting of namaste, which is a traditional greeting in India and it literally means the divinity within me acknowledges and salutes the divinity within you. So in this simply greeting we see a core Hindu theological belief that’s articulated…”– Transcript taken from Youtube video on Oprah Winfrey Network called, “Introduction to Hinduism”
Even the common “greeting” or what many yoga instructors say at the end of a session “Namaste” openly reveals why Christians and others should avoid yoga.
Notice, within Hinduism it is believed that humans are inherently divine, in that they believe they possess brahman (their “god” in them) and therefore they believe that it is also by“going inside of ourselves”that we can know God. Is this a Christian principle? Are we inherently divine?
Thanks be to God and the Holy Spirit helping us to understand the Bible, we can once again see the lies that Satan likes to tell. For keep in mind, that he is the father of lies. John 8:44, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
This specific lie from Satan, that “man is naturally immortal” today deceives many to dismiss sin and to diminish the consequences of sin just as he was cunning to do at the beginning of creation. Genesis 3:1-5, “…And he (Satan speaking through the serpent) said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (2) And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: (3) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. (4) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (5) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Before Adam and Eve fell to the temptations of Satan and sinned, they walked with God in perfect harmony and in the constant communion of heavenly angels. As they walked in obedience to God, they were immortal on the condition of continued obedience but when Adam and Eve sinned, death entered in and hence the fall of humanity.
The lie of natural immortality is running around the world at a more rapid pace in these last days of earth’s history, for Satan knows his time is running short. Which includes the common Christian belief that the wicked that don’t make it to Heaven, will be still living for eternity in hell, where they are not dead but rather alive, but in a state of immense pain and suffering. Which is another variation of Satan’s lie that mankind is naturally immortal. (Click HERE for more information). Just as God’s moral standard (the 10 Commandments) was present in Heaven before this earth and mankind were created, and as in the Garden of Eden, there has always been a consequence of disobeying the requirements of God; death. “God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die..” For “The wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23) Yet in God’s great love towards us, even then God already had a plan to redeem fallen man so that we could have the hope of immortality by the sacrifice of His Son. “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
“…the Lamb (Jesus) slain from the foundation of the world.” (Revelation 13:8)
How do we find our purpose? Can we really look within ourselves to find purpose? To find God?
When we come to understand that there is a moral standard we are called to abide by; the perfect law of liberty (the 10 Commandments – Exodus 20:1-17). Please see: Are you a good person? It is then that we find the true state of our beings. We find that we are wretched, vile, selfish and sin loving. We see that we clearly have fallen short of the glory of God and His perfect standard. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23) We abhor the good things that God desires to give us and we love doing as we want, for we seek our own pleasures, we follow our own lusts of the flesh and do everything according to what personal desires and as our feelings say.
It is then when we understand our true condition, we come to understand we need to look to something much bigger than ourselves; we see our filthiness and our desperate need of help, cleansing, forgiveness and saving from that death that we justly deserve. Yet, because of God’s many mercies towards us, by God’s love and grace, we have been provided a way in which we can get right with our Father in heaven and a way in which our debt can be cancelled and cleared. Thanks be to God, He gave His only Son, our precious Redeemer Jesus Christ to take the horrible punishment on a wooden cross for you and me and then by the power of God, defeated death and rose again from the grave on the third day. Praise the Lord!!
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Isaiah 1:18)
If we constantly continue to look to ourselves and within ourselves to find purpose and happiness, it’s going to be a very disappointing and consistently discouraging path…We fail often, but God..He never has and never will fail us. Instead of serving self and looking within ourselves to find purpose, we can find true purpose by denying ourselves, surrendering our will to God’s, and looking to the Saviour of the world as our righteous and perfect example.
“Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after me, let Him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (25) For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” (Matthew 16:24&25) and “He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He (Jesus) walked.” (1 John 2:6) And how did Jesus walk? We could write pages upon pages of the details of His perfect walk on this earth but very simply put, Jesus did the will of His Father; He walked this earth in humility and self-denial, He put others needs above His own, He loved to please His Father, He obeyed the Commandments, He healed the sick and broken hearted, He cast out demons and forgave those deemed “unforgivable”, He lived a life contrary to the pride that was found in Satan and his followers, and most importantly, though He was equal to God and had no sin, in humble obedience to His Father’s will Jesus also “became obedience unto death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:8) “for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
His life displayed perfectly what true love and self-sacrifice is. He lived a life of humility and uplifted the perfect, holy and good 10 Commandments when He showed what obeying the 10 Commandments looked like. He died for the ungodly and for sinners, He was despised and rejected of men; even His own received Him not. He was bruised for our iniquities and nailed to the cross so that, “as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God” (John 1:12), and He “abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:” (2 Timothy 1:10) so that we could become kings and priests ever to reign with Him and His Father in heaven for eternity by the merits and righteousness of Christ.
By God’s grace and us heeding His loving call to repent from our sins and put our trust in our Redeemer and Saviour, Jesus Christ we become born again; the Holy Spirit now lives in us, our hearts and desires are changed, our life is no longer ours, and the work of sanctification and process of perfection begins until the day of Jesus Christ. (Phil 1:6)
The 10 Commandments as promised (Jeremiah 32, Hebrews 8:10 & 10:16) are written on our hearts and minds and we by the strength and grace of Jesus Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit can now walk in obedience to His Law, “..the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:4) and if we are diligent to stay within the Lord’s will and obey His Commandments, nothing can separate us form the love of God (Romans 8:39). “Now unto Him (Jesus) that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,” (Jude 1:24), we will be found spotless, covered by the blood of the Lamb ready for when He soon returns to take His faithful saints home to “ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
That means face to face with the Saviour of the world, our faith will be turned into sight, and we will never have to suffer anymore. No more tears will be shed, no more violence, sickness, disease, no more sin, and no more of Satan and his temptations. We will be able to fly from planet to planet, explore all of God’s creation; the many worlds within the many galaxies that He has created! (Promises of Heaven)
1 Corinthians 2:9, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
2 Corinthians 3:5, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;”
To conclude:
This Hindu practice of yoga has only recently been brought over to the West from India and has become a common practice for many worldwide. It’s even made its way into many churches, elementary schools, and college campuses. There are many grave dangers of partaking in such practices as yoga and meditation. And this is one way in which Satan desires to get his foot in the door of your life.
If you have or are still currently partaking in new age practices like yoga or mediation, please confess and repent (turn away) for your sins; even if you were doing it in ignorance. “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:” (Acts 17:30) God is so merciful and full of compassion. He desires all to come to repentance, for He doesn’t want anyone to perish in their sins. It is the precious blood of Christ that can set anyone free, no matter how far involved someone may be in the new age and the occult. No matter how far someone may feel that they have drifted away from Christ; there is hope in Christ’s shed blood. It is only Satan that is whispering in your ear that you have sinned too much or that you have fallen too far off the path. Only Satan wants us to diminish the sacrifice of Jesus, for His blood is sufficient for all sins; no matter how grievous. Believe His promises and give your life to Him today. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Pray, read, and study the Bible everyday; “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)
For it is only by the study of the Word of God in combination with prayer and faith, that we can fight Satan’s temptations and attacks just as Jesus did in the wilderness when Satan came to tempt Him. (Matthew 4:1-11)
I pray you are blessed by what you read today. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you abundantly!
Have you ever wondered if acupuncture is Biblical? Or if it is a safe and effective treatment for anyone to receive? Over the recent century, it has found more popularity and “success” in Western Medicine and has been practiced in China for thousands of years — but does that make it a safe practice? Is it something that God would approve of? (Please read all the way to the end, as the testimony shared by an ex- acupuncturist is life changing – I pray you are blessed!)
I say all of what you are about to read below with grace and so much love. By God’s grace; He has put me in the position to share what I have learned in hopes that it will encourage you to seek the ways of Jesus and help to shed light on this specific modality. 🙂
Introduction:
The choices we make will either fall in line with God’s Word and the laws of nature or they will go contrary to God’s divine guidance and we will be following satan’s path. “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24) And we see in John 17:17, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
When making any decision, we must test every thought and option against the Word of God. 1 John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” We must not let what thousands of years of Chinese history and many “success” stories determine if something is worthy of our time and acceptable in the Lord’s eyes. We must not let physical healing, how kind someone is, how successful a doctor/practitioner may seem; good feelings, emotions or miracles determine if we should ourselves partake in a specific practice or belief.
Miracles and good results alone should not determine if a practitioner’s specialty is something we should receive, nor should it determine if someone is to be trusted or believed; for Satan himself performs many miracles. If you read in some of my earlier posts, many received relief from the work I was doing, but the work I was doing was in opposition to God and was powered through Satan. (God also gives us many examples in Scriptures of Satan’s ability to replicate and perform certain miracles but only to a certain point and as God allows). And in the very near future, Satan is going to counterfeit Jesus’ second coming; he will be performing many miracles, and our only way of discerning if these miracles are indeed of God or Satan will be by the Word of God.“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20) No matter the miracles performed, if they are in disobedience to the Lord or are walking in a way contrary to what Scripture says, we are not to believe them no matter the miracles performed. Link
For we know that according to 1 John 3:4, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” Someone that professes to know the Lord, but willingly disobeys His commandments is working iniquity. (Take the Seventh day Sabbath for example – God’s fourth commandment – which is Friday sundown to Saturday sundown and not Sunday). This excludes those that are in true ignorance and love the Lord as best as they can, according to the light they have been given. In perfect timing, when the Lord deems best they will have the Scriptures expounded onto them more perfectly, as Aquila and Priscilla had unto Apollos, “expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.”Acts 18: 24- 26, “And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. (25) This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. (26) And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.”
There are even many well known and self proclaimed faith healers today (take Benny Hinn for example), many practitioners that pray or say in the name of Jesus they are doing the work that they do, and many that profess to be Christians, but what is their fruit? What are the roots of the modality? Does it fall in line with Scripture?
So what even is acupuncture?
“Acupuncture is a treatment that uses very thin steel needles inserted into the skin to stimulate specific points in the body. The goal is to relieve a health condition or symptom, such as pain. The practice comes from traditional Chinese medicine. Scientific studies have confirmed its effectiveness for some conditions.”https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/4767-acupuncture
“Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe the human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians. These pathways create an energy flow (Qi, pronounced “chee”) through the body that is responsible for overall health. Disruption of the energy flow can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points, it is thought to improve the flow of Qi, thereby improving health.” https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/acupuncture
When pressure (acupressure), needles or moxibustion (the burning of mugwort leaves on or near the surface of the skin) are applied to those specific acupoints and areas throughout the body; it is believed that yin and yang is balanced and proper flow of Qi can once again be restored, therefore healing and restoration can be brought back into the body.
May sound pretty harmless, right? Well…
Behind every therapy and modality, just as with any holiday, festival, and tradition there are roots of where or how that therapy or tradition came to be. When looking specifically into the roots of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), we find that Taoism (pronounced and sometimes spelt as Daoism) and TCM go hand and hand. They cannot be separated, for it is within the practice of Taoism that such modalities like acupuncture came to be and are practiced today.
“Just as Western medicine has been heavily influenced by European philosophy, it makes perfect sense that Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on the Ancient Chinese religion of Taoism. In order to properly understand Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is necessary to understand Taoism.” https://www.amcollege.edu/blog/taoism-and-traditional-chinese-medicine
Keep in mind; acupuncture points are not the same as trigger points. While acupuncture points are found along different “meridians” or “channels” that run throughout the body, and are based on Eastern religion philosophy. Trigger points are simply structural and based on the anatomy and philosophy of the muscular system; these points are found in the muscle tissue or fascia where injury or overuse of a group of muscles/muscle has occurred causing tightness, tenderness and sometimes pain in a certain area. Trigger points are not based in any religion or Chinese medicine.
So what is Taoism?
“Taoism (also spelled Daoism) is a religion and a philosophy from ancient China that has influenced folk and national belief. Taoism has been connected to the philosopher Lao Tzu, who around 500 B.C.E. wrote the main book of Taoism, the Tao Te Ching. Taoism holds that humans and animals should live in balance with the Tao, or the universe. Taoists believe in spiritual immortality, where the spirit of the body joins the universe after death.” https://www.nationalgeographic.org/encyclopedia/taoism/
“Taoism [is] the way of man’s cooperation with the course or trend of the natural world, whose principles we discover in the flow patterns of water, gas, an fire, which are subsequently memorialized or sculptured in those of stone and wood, and, later, in many forms of human art. (From Tao: The Watercourse Way). The specificity of this way of life is the need to adapt to the tendencies of nature. But this approach is not a mere return to Mother Nature so familiar to our New Age ideology. Rather it is a wisdom acquired by simply observing the flow of the natural world.” https://www.taopage.org/taoism.html
“The Taoists were most interested in discovering “the primordial qi:” the energy source from where all life comes from. As a spiritual philosophy, the Taoists focused on the source of life, coming from a chaotic “oneness,” sort of similar to the “Big Bang Theory” in Physics. From this “oneness,” which they called the “Tao,” came differentiation and opposites: male and female, light and dark, substance and non-substance: “Yin and Yang.” From the interaction of Yin and Yang, all phenomenon are born. Chinese Medicine, as created by the Taoists, focuses on this aspect of reality: the “Qi,” or energy that creates and sustains life.” Source
“In the beginning, there was an endless void, known as Wu Chi, or Tao. The Tao is a universal energy, from which all things emanate. (2) From this vast cosmic universe, from Tao, the One emerges. (3) As the One manifests in the world, it divides into two: the Yin and the Yang, complementary conditions of action (Yang) and inaction (Yin). This stage represents the emergence of duality/polarity out of the Unity of Tao. The “dance”–the continual transformations–of Yin and Yang fuels the flow of qi (chi) In Taoist cosmology, Qi is in constant transformation between its condensed material state and its dilute energetic state.”https://www.learnreligions.com/taoist-cosmology-3182590
Taoists believe that the misbalance of yin and yang in the body, blocks “Qi” or “life energy” to properly flow therefore causing sickness and disease. It is believed that through various religious practices and treatments like acupuncture (other practices also includes martial arts, yoga, and meditation – scary demonic practice of emptying of the mind), proper balance of yin and yang can be achieved, which in turn helps someone “achieve immortality” by being in proper balance with the “Tao” and nature. There are varying beliefs within Taoism of what achieving immortality looks like, whether by worshipping many gods, becoming gods themselves, or simply becoming part of earth by living in nature; the plants, trees, or flowers in spirit forever…whatever variation of belief it may be, it seems to be that across the board no matter the slight differences, all Taoists strive to find balance and harmony with existence and nature. And it is within the beliefs of Taoism that such modalities as acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine were created in the first place, but what does Scripture say? What does the Christian believe? Do they strive to be in balance with nature and depend on their own abilities to achieve immortality?
Contrary to “Qi” or “life energy”, scripture tells us that it was God Himself that gave us life and breath. “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7) There is a big misconception that our body and our soul are two separate things, but as we read in the verse above, it is dust plus breath from God that equals a living soul. We are all living souls. And just as God gave us life, it is God that determines our time to die (or go to the grave) and when we die, our breath will return unto God and we will return to dust just as we came into this world. Genesis 3: 19, “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
James 2:26, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith with out works is dead also.”
God also tells us that many precious souls would worship nature over Him who created everything seen and unseen, including His beautiful creation. Romans 1:20-25, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: (25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”
Rather than striving to be one with Nature or the “Tao” to achieve immortality now and for some in the afterlife as well, Christians understand that there is nothing of themselves or their own abilities that can give them life eternal or immortality. Rather it is through the merits and righteousness of Jesus Christ that we are worthy of eternal life; His shed blood on Calvary and leading captivity captive when He rose again on the third day defeating death itself. It is Christ and His righteousness that guides us and creates in us good works onto salvation. Praise His Name! Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast. (10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Titus 2:14, “Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
Titus 3: 3-7, “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. (4) But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, (5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (6) Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; (7) That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
What about the “Tao”?
Hmm interesting how they started one the quotes with, “In the beginning…” sound familiar? Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Taoists believe that everything we see today was created through a chaotic “oneness,” which is similar to the “Big Bang Theory…” which is evolution, as we know it today.
While the Bible believing Christian believes that the Word of God is truth and every aspect of their life is determined by it. The Taoist believes that the “Tao” is the “divine or correct way” while Christians believe what Jesus said in, John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
We also understand that this universe, world, man and beast were not created merely by chance. It is by the divine and inspired Scriptures that we learn that in the beginning of creation, God created life and all things in 6 days and on the 7th day He rested, and sanctified and hallowed the 7th day. Exodus 20:11, “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
God created man in His image with purpose and careful thought. Isaiah 43:7, “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” Evolution and Taoism sadly make people to be just a bag of molecules created by accident, with no purpose and hope.
The earth as we see it today wasn’t always like this, in the Garden of Eden before sin entered in everything was perfect; there wasn’t any violence, death, abuse, corruption, poor health, GMO foods, etc. Man was living in perfect harmony with God, with praise and thanks in their heart to their Creator. God didn’t create man to die, but to live in eternal peace with God forever…it wasn’t until Adam and Eve, the first parents of humanity broke the Creator’s law (1 John 3:4) when tempted by Satan and because of their sin; death, disease, sadness, and famine entered into the picture.
This also meant that the whole human race would now be born into a sin fallen world. This was his (Satan’s) plan all along; Satan knew that if he could get God’s creation to willingly disobey God, (and this still applies to today) God’s children would also receive the just punishment of death and perish just like Satan and his angels. Just as Satan hoped. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death;…”
Just as when you break the law of the land, you must pay a cost. For example, if you break the speed limit, the cost is a speeding ticket. If you commit a crime, depending on the crime; it costs a payment of money and/or jail time. This is a heavenly truth made manifest on earth. Just as we have a set of laws and rules to follow in the US, the Creator of the Universe also has a set of laws in which we are to follow. This being the 10 commandments. And rightly so, there is a just punishment and consequence of breaking God’s Law as well…which we read in in Romans 6:23 is death.
What Satan didn’t know was that God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit had a plan of redemption for fallen man. Jesus would come in human flesh to pay the price that we deserved. “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (8) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” (Philippians 2:7 & 8) He would take upon Himself the wrath of His Father for the price of the sins committed, and by His death make a way for us to be forgiven and be given the ability by His grace and imputed righteousness by faith to obey His divine Law; the very Law which we had broken and Jesus had died for our breaking. The death that you and I deserve, that Adam and Eve deserved, Jesus paid.
Psalms 139:13 &14, “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. (14) I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:…” God knew each and everyone of us long before we were born. And it was long before God planned to bring us into this world, that Jesus already had decided that He would die the death that you and I deserve so we could have purpose in this life now and eternal life with God forever. “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” (Titus 1:2)
“…the Lamb (Jesus) slain from the foundation of the world.” (Revelation 13:8)
2 Timothy 1:9 &10, “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:”
What does this have to do with acupuncture and Taoism?
Evolution and Taoism on the contrary teaches that sickness, disease, sadness, destruction, and evil are part of how this world has always been and that is how it will always be. Unlike the amazing promises of heaven, and the hope we have in Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the cross and His rising from the dead defeating death itself and the power of Satan. Belief in evolution, Taoism and Chinese philosophy undermine the Gospel of Jesus Christ for if evolution or the “Big Bang Theory” were true, then Jesus died for nothing.
What about yin and yang?
As we read in earlier quotes above, the relationship between Yin and Yang play a vital role in understanding the Taoist and Chinese philosophy. “It takes Yin and Yang to create life, and only when the two are harmonized will there be a moral way.”Source
As shown to the right, this well-known symbol represents the relationship of yin and yang. Yin and yang are explained to be harmonious and not opposing. Take light and darkness, good and evil, heat and cold for a few examples. They believe these things are to be in harmony with each other in order to attain life, optimal health, happiness and again to be in balance with the “Tao”; for this “symbol represents the movements of heaven and the Tao” and “the small opposing dots in each area represent that in all evil there exists some good, whilein all the good there exists some evil.” Source
The Taoist and Chinese philosopher sees every aspect of life in relation to the balance of yin and yang. Here are a few more examples; female (yin) and male (yang), night (yin) and day (yang), interior (yin) and exterior (yang), sour (yin) and sweet (yang), metal (yin) and wood (yang)…they believe this applies to organs as well; liver, heart, spleen (yin) and gallbladder, stomach, large intestine (yang).
The relationship between this “yin and yang” is the basis and foundation of the Taoist religion and traditional Chinese medicine but what do the Holy Scriptures say? “…that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5)
The concept of yin and yang oppose the divine Scriptures; not only was Jesus Christ sinless and perfect when He walked on earth in human flesh just under two thousand years ago, but God also calls us to follow after Jesus’ perfect example. He calls us to walk as He walked in 1 John 2:6, “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked” and “…Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)We are also told that we are not to live in harmony with evil, but rather we are to reprove it and depart from it! Ephesians 5:11, “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” And we see in Job 28:28,“…the fear of the Lord, this is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding” and inProverbs 3:7 we read, “Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the Lord, and depart from evil.”
We see this all throughout Scripture, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:22) & 2 Corinthians 6:14, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion that light with darkness?”
A child of God wants nothing to do with evil, and everything to do with the light who is Jesus Christ Himself. John 8:12, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
So, how did Taoists create acupuncture?
We must understand that under the religious belief and philosophy of Taoism, it was the combination of divination, numerology, astrology and spiritism that Traditional Chinese Medicine and the many modalities within TCM, like acupuncture and acupressure were created for the sole purpose to bring them closer to the “Tao”.
It is important to note as well that it is from this theory and concept of the relationship between yin and yang, and divination (which we will discuss further down) that the well-known five element theory (fire, water, earth, metal and wood), the 64 hexagrams of Yijing (or the I Ching Hexagrams), 5 Shen, Chakras and looking into the organs for certain meanings and emotions were created. Without going too in-depth, for this could be a whole separate study in itself, here are a few quotes in regard to these other tools created within Chinese philosophy. “I Ching is one of the oldest books of Ancient China. It contains 64 hexagrams and texts on how to understand them in the case of divination…In I Ching, each hexagram has its own particular meaning in divination. So do the lines of it. They represent yin and yang, the basic polarities of Chinese cosmology and philosophy.” Source“From this dance of Yin and Yang emerges the five elements: wood (lesser yang), fire (greater yang), metal (lesser yin), water (greater yin), and earth (central phase). Also produced here are the eight trigrams (Bagua), which form the 64 hexagrams of the Yijing (I Ching). This stage represents the formation, out of the initial Yin/Yang duality, of the elemental constituents of the phenomenal world.”Source
“The Five Shen are the spirits associated with each of the body’s five yin organ systems (Heart, Kidney, Spleen, Liver, and Lungs). The origin of the Five-Shen system is found within the Shangqing lineage of Taoist practice. Each of these spirits has a connection not only with a yin organ and its associated element, but also with the energy of a planet and a direction. To “wake up” the Shen of the organs is similar to “calling in the spirits” for a shamanic ritual. The Five Shen, when in balance, vibrate with a resonant beauty similar to the planets’ “Harmony of the Spheres.” Ultimately, within the context of our neidan (Inner Alchemy) practice, the Five Shen are returned to the unified Mind of Tao.”“Each chakra has a very specific yin and yang meridian counterpart. The Root Chakra corresponds to the Kidney meridian (yin) and the Bladder meridian (yang). The emotions associated with these meridian pathways are fear and shock.” Source
“The seven main Chakras are located at various points along the spine. They correlate with various Meridian points flowing along the spine. There are 12 main meridians 6 are yin and 6 are yang. Reiki channelizes the Qi/Ki life force energy through both the Chakras and Meridians.”
So, what about acupuncture and acupressure?
“Huang Ti concluded through study of the stars, that harmony and balance reign in the universe. His next conclusion was that man as the microcosm must correspond to the macrocosm. In other words, physical and mental processes must be put in tune with one another. This insight has found new emphasis in the psychosomatic school of our own century. The basic concept of acupuncture is thus philosophical in character, with a leaning to astrology.” Source
This should be an automatic red flag to the Bible believing Christian. For such practices is an abomination in the Lord’s eyes. For astrology and numerology are divination.
Deuteronomy 18:9-12, “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. (10) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, (11) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.”
“Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.” Jeremiah 10:2
Isaiah 47:13 & 14, “Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. (14) Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.”
God even gave us a verse showing that it is within the practice of divination that “answers” were found looking into the organs (this is different than scientific medical testing, like a blood test or scope). For we see this in Ezekiel 21:21, “For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.”
It is even within Taoism itself that many principles from Buddhism, Confucianism and new age philosophy and thought are found. They all have their distinct differences, and their beliefs vary in certain ways, yet in comparison to Scripture they all fall under the same categories: unBiblical, pagan and demonic. For they teach contrary to the teachings of Scripture and how we are to live this life. It is sadly under the deception of Satan that such confusing beliefs have come to be.
Christians understand that this earthly life is temporary, and that our only hope for eternal life is Jesus Christ. For this earth and everything on this earth will soon be destroyed and a new earth will be created. If we repent of our sins and put our trust in the loving and merciful Saviour; no matter the terrible deeds in which we have done, the “secret” sins in which we have pursued, or the awful crimes which we have committed against God and our fellow man. His grace is sufficient, and we can be forgiven and have eternal life with Him forever! By the grace Jesus Christ, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God will give us strength to obey His Commandments and walk in His light to overcome whatever temptations Satan may bring and whatever trials may come. James 1:12, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”
It is often the many deep wounds and the burden of sin that causes the many ailments we face, whether they be physical, mental or spiritual. It is the soul burdened with grief of their sin and sorrow of their ways that so often causes the many ailments of the heart and soul (body).
With any modality, even if we receive “healing” or “feel better”, if God doesn’t approve of it, is it worth opening a door to him whose only intent has ever been to kill and destroy us? Such modalities found in Traditional Chinese medicine like acupuncture and acupressure, open the door to let Satan in even if we don’t realize it.
That may seem harsh but it is the blunt reality that gets so often sugarcoated and downplayed, but it’s so important to understand that Satan “cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:” and Jesus said, “…I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) Any way in which Satan can tempt us, place doubt, discontentment, and lies into our mind and heart, he will. Any way in which he could lead someone away from Christ or farther away from the possibility of seeing Jesus as the true physician and true healer, he will. Any way in which he can get someone to disobey God and not see the truth of the importance of keeping all His blessed Commandments by the grace of Jesus Christ, Satan will.
Revelation 22:14, “Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”
Receiving acupuncture (acupressure or any of the other modalities we touched on briefly – paganism as a whole) is an open door and opportunity for Satan to get his foot in the door and deceive you to think that there is true healing outside of Jesus and the Biblical ways in which He uplifts. For I have heard it said, “That spiritual death happens one small compromise at a time.”
Oftentimes, because of our impatience and desire to be fixed instantly and in the most easy or convenient way, the result is typically us choosing to walk outside of the lighted and narrow path that God wants us to walk, and when we choose that path we cannot expect to be protected from evil in which Satan wants to bring.
“There are multitudes today as truly under the power of evil spirits as was the demoniac of Capernaum. All who willfully depart from God’s commandments are placing themselves under the control of Satan. Many a man tampers with evil, thinking that he can break away at pleasure; but he is lured on and on, until he finds himself controlled by a will stronger than his own.He cannot escape its mysterious power.Secret sin or master passion may hold him a captive as helpless as was the demoniac of Capernaum.
Yet his condition is not hopeless. God does not control our minds without our consent; but every man is free to choose what power he will have to rule over him. None have fallen so low, none are so vile, but that they may find deliverance in Christ.”
A concerned Christian
As we read earlier in Deuteronomy 18:9-12, divination and looking to the stars for guidance is an abomination in the Lord’s eyes, so why would we receive a modality that was created in this way?
James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God.Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Psalms 5:4, “For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; neither shall evil dwell with thee.”
1 John 1:6, “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:”
The following testimony comes from a Chinese doctor in Malaysia quoted in the book, “They Shall Expel Demons” (pages 135-136) by Derek Prince:
“About eight years ago, at a retreat in Singapore, God spoke to me about the dangers of acupuncture and its link to the occult, especially its inseparable origin with traditional Chinese religion. I immediately renounced my practice of acupuncture- a skill I learned in Hong Kong and practiced successfully for five years.
As soon as I came back home, I announced to my startled staff of doctors, nurses and patients that acupuncture is dangerous and that I had renounced it and would not practice it anymore. I gathered all my machines, needles, books, diploma and charts and made a great bonfire of them publicly. The total cost of the items was about $15,000- but the blessings after that were priceless because:
1. My wife, who had suffered from chronic migraine and had acupuncture, done by me many times before, was immediately healed without medicine or prayer.
2. My unexplained fear of darkness immediately vanished.
3. My medical practice, instead of suffering a loss, received a doublefold increase in blessings.”
Often times, in our impatience and desire to be fixed instantly and in the most easy or convenient ways, results in us walking outside of the lighted path that God wants us to walk, and we choose a path in which we cannot expect to be protected from the evil satan wants to bring into our lives. In the past I can attest to doing this myself time and time again, but praise God, the Lord never allowed me to receive true healing by these many different new age modalities. It wasn’t until I surrendered my health at the Lord’s feet, and I stopped using these different unBiblical modalities, that true healing began. Praise the Lord!
To conclude:
We all have the free will to choose to make whatever decision we want, but we don’t have the option to choose the consequences of those decisions. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death;…” Not only will we reap the eternal consequences of being separated from our loving Creator and Heavenly Father forever if we don’t confess and turn away from our sins, but we reap earthly consequences as well. We reap restlessness, anxiety, poor health, we lack peace, our sleep is disturbed, we are more easy to get stressed and upset, and the list goes on.. Galatians 6:7 & 8, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”
I say this all with grace and love, for someone currently reading this may not have known acupuncture and other new age modalities (as listed in this article and others – new age) aren’t modes of healing that glorify God. I can relate, I have been there too. “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:” (Acts 17:30) Praise God for His mercy and grace, that you are here reading this today. He knows just what we need, just in the right time. If you are grieved by partaking in such modalities; I pray your heart is comforted by the grace we can have in Jesus. Seek Him with all of your heart, confess and turn away (repent) from these modalities and sins that you know you have done against Him, and by faith accept Jesus’ atoning blood for the payment of the sins you have committed. He will restore you unto Himself. He will do a mighty work in you. He will help you turn away and learn how to live life without those new age methods in your life. Get into your Bible as much as you can, and pray as often as you can; thank Him, praise Him, tell Him your concerns, your worries, whatever it may…He wants to hear you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. He sees your heart and your desire to know Him and put away everything that goes against Him. We all have fallen so so short of God’s glory, yet His grace is truly sufficient. (2 Corinthians 12:9) Thank you Lord!
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7)
“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103:12)
We on our own cannot not do any good thing, we on our own have no ability to change ourselves, to change our hearts, our desires, overcome temptation and sin; we need the grace of Christ working in us. We need Him. ALWAYS. Every moment of everyday. If we give our will and our hearts to Jesus; we repent and turn away from the known evils in our lives, and we believe the Jesus’ blood cleanses us; He will change us; He will live in us. Praise His mighty Name! “..He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” (Philippians 1:6).
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
